So wanted to go over just a few things on Google My Business that we didn't really cover in optimization, mainly because it doesn't affect your rankings. And it's just extra things that you can do. And one of the first things I want to point out is messaging. Now messaging, what you're going to see on your screen is going to differ depending on how you set it up. So if you set it up with early on and you use the phone number, then you'll still be able to use this texting feature, which is pretty cool. And so if a customer wants to interact with you on their mobile device, and they want to send you a message, it comes this way, and then you have a chance to send an autoresponder and this will actually pop up on your phone, so you'll actually be texting with someone on there.
It's a little bit of an interesting because it comes across multiple phone numbers. So when it comes up on your phone, it's kind of confusing that it's actually from Google My Business. And if you have a newer account, what they're going to do is suggest that you actually install the app, the Google My Business app, and that's what I would recommend. You can actually control everything from your phone. It keeps you from having separate phone numbers, one that you set up on info and one that you use for texting, you can use this. There.
The only downside of this is that whoever has the app is the one section communicating with the client. So if you as the owner don't want to communicate the client, you'd have to have you know, your assistant, whoever's on call, have this app installed, and connect to Google My Business. So that's the one little caveat there. But it gives a little option for you to communicate that way on a mobile device, if you're searching for, you know, plumber near me, real estate agent near me those sort of things. The other thing is we didn't talk about was services. Again, we talked about having, adding some of the keywords in here.
It can't hurt, it can only help. But also notice that if you have a different kind of business, you may have multiple options here. Services is always going to be here. But if you may have another option that says products, and that's something where you can add natural products that you sell if you sell a individual product, and it depends on the category that you choose in the Info section. So that's just something to note there, also, we didn't cover insights. But this actually tells you this is where you'd find your analytics.
And, and that's pretty much it. So we've already talked about how to optimize this. And then you go through. And this gives you options. The other thing is, is you can also advertise on Google My Business. And that's really the the draw that they want you to do.
So they're going to want you to set up ads here. And if you do that, it does give you more options on the map. So you may have options that have a call to action, you may have options just to pop up first, when people search. And there are different courses for google google ads, that's what I recommend. I recommend that you take a Google PPC class before you just jump in with this because you can waste money very quickly. It is somewhat effective, but it's only going to be like a marginally effective versus if you had kind of the knowledge behind setting it up.
So that's what I recommend. And hopefully this was useful just to go over some of the extra things on here. And mainly the one that you want to set up is the messaging so that you can get some extra consumers when they're searching on their phone, especially for business that's like a needed business that like you know someone wants you soon.
