What's the best editing software to use for making your own online video, whether it's for YouTube, Facebook, your own courses on Udemy. I have a contrarian view on this for most people in my position, I happen to believe the absolute best editing function, best editing software, best editing tool, delete button, and just shoot it again. People will shoot something once and then spend hours and hours trying to take out this arm or change this word. Such a waste of time. It's so much faster to just do it again. Now, if you're making a superbowl commercial, and you're spending three $4 million on the ad, Well, sure you can edit every single frame for months, if not years to get that commercial just right because billions of people or at least hundreds of millions of people will be watching But when you are speaking on YouTube, Facebook, your own video, online courses or other promotions, you're not being seen by billions.
I'm not saying put out garbage or put out trash, but the amount of time it takes to edit and turn this into a little movie versus just doing again, to me, it just doesn't warrant all the time editing it, redo it. Here's the other benefit. By redoing it, you get more comfortable you build more public speaking experience. Chances are your second tape will be better. The second draft of a letter, the third draft of a book, usually better than the first draft. Rather than editing it using the software.
I think the best way of editing it is just to speak it out loud again. Now I occasionally get some criticism of my courses right here on Udemy saying Well, why don't you have all sorts A B roll, edit and all sorts of graphics. But for the most part, people actually like it. And in fact, you'll see some of my courses, they are not just the highest rated in their sector, whether it's media training or public speaking, but it's the highest rated by a huge margin. And guess what? I have zero editing.
In any of my courses. It's just me speaking. Think of the best Professor you ever had in college or high school or graduate school? When they gave a great lecture? Did they stop and redo it five times and ask you to look at it a different way and or did they just speak if they had to stop or stumble or correct themselves, they just kept on going. It was still a great lecture.
There's still a great professor. So when you are using video format to communicate with people by speaking, I believe you should just speak you want to put in Row on or something else that's fine. That's simple to do that's typing and there it is zillion programs for that. But the one program people, most overlook, delete and redo
