Hi, I'm Susan white, I have a PhD in psychology. And I'm just fascinated by human behavior, fascinated by our brains and how they work and how that affects the way we act with other people and the decisions that we make. And in this short course, on the fundamentals of brain and behavior science, we're going to cover just some of the, I think the new and exciting research that's going on in brain and behavior science. We've learned so much in recent years about what's going on in our brains that our tools have allowed us to kind of take a peek in to see what the brain is doing. And we've learned so much about behavior, why people do some of the crazy nutty things that they do. And so in this short course, we're gonna I'm just giving you a taste for some of the really things fun and interesting things that are happening.

For instance, in the, in the area of motivation, what motivates people to take action in the area of decision, some of the latest research on decision making? Did you know that most of our decisions are made unconsciously, and that people can actually see in your brain when you've made a decision before you're consciously aware that you have. So we'll talk about that. We're going to talk about some of the interesting brain chemicals that affect our behavior like oxytocin and dopamine. We'll talk about our perception of vision and hearing and our different sensory data that comes in and how our brain interprets that. So a lot of different topics, we're going to cover just a little bit to give you a taste overall of brain and behavioral science.
