I'm Jim McCall. Welcome to ultimate drumming calm. I call this lesson eighth note Phil's number two. First I'm going to play it for you. I'm going to break it down note by note and show you how it works. In order to play these great sound and eighth note fills, you have to count.
Eighth notes are counted one and two and three and four and I have several different patterns I'm going to show you. The first pattern is a to measure phrase. I'm going to start out by crashing the symbol on one and all the other eighth notes are played on the snare drum for two measures and then the pattern is repeated again. This is how it works 123 and four now to make the pattern more interesting. I'm going to add the bass drum when I crash the cymbal, what and two and three and four. And the second pattern I'm going to show you is the same idea.
I'm going to crash the symbol on one However, this is a one measure phrase. So every time I say one, I'm going to crash the symbol, I'm going to go ahead and add the bass drum, or the cymbal crashes, or beat one, one and two and three and four and oh next time pattern. I'm gonna play the cymbal and bass drum on beats one and three. Once again, all the other notes are played on the snare drum, one and two and three and four pan. And finally, the last pattern, I'm going to play this symbol on every number I say, what n two and three and four and one. Now a really good way to work on these excellent sound and patterns is to apply them in combination.
Here's how it works. What n two n three and four. Once you get good at that tempo, we're going to speed it up 1234 You've just learned another really great rhythmic combination at ultimate drumming calm, new videos and lessons are being added weekly. It's important that you check back often so you can get the absolute best possible results from your drumming experience. I'm Joe McCall. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you soon at ultimate drumming.com
