Okay, so inside of your own product, the pluses and minuses are going to be pretty simple 100% revenue, which means it's all yours if someone comes in and they're an affiliate, and they sell your product, guess what? That wasn't a sale that was ever to be yours. So you have 50% of not something that was going to be 100% of nothing. Would you rather have 50% This is how I always explain it. Do you want 50% of something? Or 100% of nothing?

And everyone's always gonna say, well, 50% of something because it's something at least, rather than having all of nothing to me. That's exactly what you get. So it's 100% revenue and anytime that you have 50% Guess what? It wasn't yours to begin with. So count that sale is awesome. I'm glad this happened.

Outside of that, again, you have branding. That's the most beautiful thing that's coming inside. this day and age is your ability to brand. Your branding makes a difference. Whether you are able to get a following that either socially or you know, email, just whatever the statistics end up showing for you is the best medium platform to reach them is going to follow you every single step of your journey. And that means your journey may end up being, hey, I'm going to show you how to get this desired result, or I'm on my way to, and I'm making tools and guides that will help you do what I did in half the time.

All types of things can be products. Most products are just simply information based. We're all experts, because we've all learned something that other people don't know. And that alone makes us an expert in something. Now, does it make you a master of your expertise? No, that's actually a different understanding.

The master of your expertise usually takes about 10,000 dedicated hours or five years, 40 hours every week, 50 weeks a year for five years. That's what it takes. You do that Then you actually have what's called a mastery of your topic, your subject or your field or niche. Now, once that's been spoken, you know, you kind of got your branding going, it means that people are more much more likely to go. He's the expert at this, he knows it. So we're gonna buy it.

You know, you think of Tony Robbins. If you've ever heard his name, you know that he's a motivational speaker, and he's great at what he does. So that's branding, right by itself, name recognition, people are able to ID you simply by your name. Again, my idea is one day just for people to be able to hear my name and be able to go Ah, he does this, which is just basically sales funnels, online marketing. And this branding follows you when you have your own product. On top of that.

You have affiliates. So that means you get people that are going to go out and spread the word about your product and how great it is to all the world because they have a paid incentive. And as long as you have Your own split tests and your own sales funnels properly worked out, then those affiliates should have similar successes as you have, depending on the traffic sources they get. Now, with that being done affiliating is a great thing to get your brand off and get those first initial sales. But probably one of my favorite things is upsells. Again, upsells mean more money.

It allows you to monetize off that initial front end, probably a loss, you know, like I have, and then you can get people to buy the audio book, you can get them to do upsell, one upsell to go into your continuity, whatever it is, all of these things add to your bottom line. After someone's come through that initial funnel, you can even set up your affiliate program where Hey, that cookie does expire after 30 days or after that first initial front end sales funnel, anything on the middle or the back end or the continuity. I keep that so you get your first Initial sales, and you know, do XYZ I, whatever I do afterwards XYZ is one to 2% my profit. So again, upsells. And all these things are so beneficial, they can absolutely open up the world for you in terms of selling your own product and the leverage ability of outspending your competitors.

And let me tell you about that a little bit too. can spend more, and I know that may not seem like a plus, but let me tell you, Dan, can you explain this to me? And it can be a little confusing at first, but it's not really when you break it down? Because whatever you do, you have what's known as direct competitors and indirect competitors. direct competitor sells something that's very similar to you in direct sales, something within the same industry, but not quite. with direct competitors.

All you're trying to find out is, hey, where do they place their ads? Where can I place these and how much are they spending to get one individual customer if I can find where they place their ads. Which I even teach through success hacking. And then we can place the ads in the same place and outspend our competitors, meaning they pay $20 for a person to come through, click on that ad and become a buyer, I can spend $25, that means I'm going to get placed and shown higher than them, I'm going to get more than them, I'm going to be able to out by their buyers. And when I do that, I'm able to basically push and corner markets, push people out of markets and corner the markets for myself. All of that is because I can spend more because I own the product as an affiliate, you do not have that leverage.

So again, there are my mother lode of other things, but I'm just gonna put it down as a simple thing of saying leverage. That's exactly what you have. You can spend more you have upsells you have affiliates. There's all types of leverage points when you own your own product and you can build your own value ladder that allow you to create a million dollar business much more quickly than being an affiliate. You are a super affiliate even. Now, that's not to say that you have your email list, you are already a super affiliate, you can't make a million you can, it's very easy.

But you have much more leverage points in which you can take your current power status and double it or even triple it, which means doubling and tripling your bank account your earnings. That's the type of leverage your own product delivers. Affiliate, on the other hand, is usually pretty poignant. One for One, if I send this many emails about this product, I'm going to get this type of EPC or earnings per click, which means I'm going to make so much this today because I got 100 clicks and every time someone clicks, I earn five bucks. So boom, I earned 500 bucks for that email today. Whatever you have, that's what affiliate means like owning your own product.

On the other hand, sales comm left right affiliates, jayvees, all types of other things. You can spend more you're able to buy different types of traffic, and you have more money coming in from those sales even as well. All of these things, again, create that leverage point, allowing you to be able to build quicker without as much work. Now, there's a few other things inside of owning your product, like you have a value ladder, like I talked about not being able to have really as an affiliate, a value ladder is a complete business. The other thing on top of owning your own product is you can change and improve as you see fit. When you get some split tests, you can make those changes right away.

You don't need to wait on someone else to make sales page changes that may take weeks months, never, you know, some people they only send like so much traffic to a sales page and they don't really split test it again, which isn't smart. You should split test about after every 10 $20,000 in you know, traffic spent, even if it's just small little changes. That's what I do. So again, That's kind of what you got to look out for is that when you change and improve, you can do it instantly but you are also the one who has to do it, but that's a good thing. So a minus two that kind of tagging along with that you have to build your own funnel. And inside each of the your, you know, opt in landing pages. Once you have that, it can be done very quickly but you do have to do it. So that's a minus if you don't use Click Funnels, usually pages other things. I don't have templates for that because I use what works and what works I'm telling you guys to use. But like I said, if you choose not too You can go to LeadPages you can use optimize press you can, you know page builder all types of different places offer the same exact services. Point being I don't have templates for that.

I don't know how to share templates for those things. I use Click Funnels, I test inside Click Funnels, it makes a B split testing easy. But with that being said, if you want to choice of the field of builders is open to you. The other thing a be testing, all right, you got to do it. So it can be a pain if you don't have clickfunnels. There's a bunch of other add ins that do this and there's monthly fees attached with it but a be split testing, you have to do it you have to test if something's working.

On top of that. You have to go through setup site. You have to build product. I mean, I could go through a whole list d i was Marketing. So that means you have to figure it out. You know, if you're publishing a book, you got to do that all yourself.

Most publishers aren't going to take you under their wing, without you at least having some previous book or literature that you've printed and published before. Otherwise, they're just gonna go, who are you? Why should we work with you? Only if you pay us 10 2030 grand, and then even then, they're gonna help you get your book out, but doesn't promise book sales? It just says, Yeah, we're gonna put some of these things out in different venues. And if they get sold, fine, if not, you have to buy back these copies at the end of this term or period of contract.

So it can be a big hassle. All of these things are DIY marketing, things that you have to work out and far in advance really, before you do a product launch. And that's another thing, creating a product launch. You have to do videos and content almost Daily all the time, you have to keep up on these things. It's gonna take a lot more money. And more time, Reason being the guy make all these things up front.

I mean, you can have product launches, and I'll talk about some of these launches as well, where you don't have to invest that time upfront. But you do have to get sales up front. And that does, of course, have a time investment. And then you're more guaranteed, Hey, I got 10 sales for $100 product. This I have $1,000 to make this course this makes me feel a lot better about doing it. So you can go do it.

But sometimes, I can't tell you how many times I've made a course. And the first day resulted in zero sales. I don't want you to feel like you're alone in that. That is kind of typical for most people. Now when you have a larger following. Yeah, you can send out an email and some sales start rushing through, but even people where I've had They have you know, 10,000 20,000, even 50,000 lists, they'll send out, you know, pushes for a product that we did together, only get, you know, two, three sales.

And those are giant lists. It just all depends. It's all about that trickle through effect people will come through when you start talking about it over a few weeks, a few months, they go Oh, right, you made something about that you keep mentioning it, I feel like I should, I should look that look that up and you know, see if that that works for me. And then they end up looking more discovering and buying. But until then, you're really looking at a kind of hard, rough, up start. It's not exactly something where you're going to get paid off the bat.

You can get paid but it's not going to be the largest amount. It's going to be nominal. It's going to be something to push you forward and get the course done. So that now it's done and all of these other productions that you do, or you know, sales that you push, they're not in vain. You don't feel like Gosh, I wasted all this time. I made a course I spent 20 hours on it, and I got no sales.

So it's gonna be a big, huge emotional roller coaster. If you tagged along with Well, I didn't get instant success. That's one of the things of owning your own product, there is no incentive instant, sorry. instant success. All right, that just doesn't happen with your own product, especially if you're just starting out. Now, if you're already well known inside your field, you've already done something like this.

And people are asking you for this types of information that you're about to put out, I get it, then you're going to have more of an instant success in a sense, it's not going to be nearly what you would expect but he builds up and your own product is a platform to build on. So the thing is the positive and the negative is you build You all right? So all of that is investment in yourself. That's the best type of investment you could ever make in this world. I'd rather invest in me 10 times out of 10 than in somebody else who I don't know what their talents or outcomes may be. I can judge me I can hold me accountable.

I can't hold anyone else but me accountable. So building you as your own brand and your own product helps tremendously in setting a standard where you can be in control of your own income forever.
