Hello. So far, we have seen how we can route our PCBs manually by dragging every single track. But you must all know that there is a shortcut to this method, and that's called as auto router. Many people call using auto rotor as a cheating with PCB design, which is technically not true. But yes, the PCBs which are auto routed, are not as good as the ones which are manually routed. But if you know that your project is simple, and you don't have to do any complex design, and if it's a simple one time job or anything like that, you can definitely use auto router.

But before using otter also, it is important that your placement or the layout should be appropriate. For example, this crystal gets connected to these two pins. So it's not at all logical to place this crystal from instead of here to here at this position. So make sure all your tracks or your components are placed appropriately close to each other before using otter otter to get the best results. So let's say in this video how we can alter out using a single layer or only using this single sided PCB, and in the next video we'll see how to auto route the double sided PCB. Now before auto routing, I need to manually completely undo out all the traces.

So let's undo out all of them at once. Just use the same command rip up and give a semicolon with semicolon, it will rip up all the signals. Now all the signals are wrapped up. And now you can start using the auto router. So just go to the tools auto router. Here you can select the layers.

I want only bottom copper to be routed. So all of the layers including top should be an A or not available. If needed, you can also go on to select some rules for it. Basically there are three settings low, medium and high. So let's choose low efforts and click on Continue. The PCB now will get completely auto routed as per our requirement.

The tracks sizes are Susan to be the default ones. And once it's completed it shows hundred percent. I'll just do any job here. Now as you can see, the entire PCB has been auto routed completely. Now you can see that the size of the array or the size of the track is a little bit different as compared to think what was needed. Okay, so let's go to the DRC These are the design rules.

So layers clearance distance sizes, so minimum track width, you can set it over here, and then the order out of let's see what difference we get. I'll just do control set. Then I'll go to Tools DRC. And in this size minimum, Reddit, I'll choose it to be 15 minutes and just click on Apply. Now let's try to run the auto router once again. Start now this time it will be routed with the chosen track sites.

You can see the progress here based upon the speed of the computer, okay, I made one mistake. I chose both delayers while auto routing whereas I think Should have manually chosen only one layer. Again go to Tools auto routers and choose only bottom layer. Continue start. So that will auto route your PCB. Make sure whenever you are using auto router, do it safely check the design rules as and when needed for what track sizes you need to be present in your PCB.

Now it's done. I'll just enjoy. We can see now the tracks are there with the dress size of 15 mils. So that's how we do the auto routing for single sided PCB
