Welcome back everyone. Let's keep on rolling with our discussion on the Content Browser. And let's start off by showing you how you can copy, rename or move an asset. I am here my content sorter content particles folder and I've got this p underscore fire particle effect, and I'm simply going to right click on this guy, and in the right click menu, you have the option to duplicate this. You can also use Ctrl plus w as the hotkey to duplicate it, but I'm simply going to select it here to duplicate this asset and I'm going to rename it right away. p underscore buyer blue, hit enter and I'm going to double click on it.

And duplicating assets is really a good time saver when you're working in your projects because sometimes all you want to do is find an asset that you like And change one thing about it. In this case, I'm going to simply demonstrate how you could turn this to be a blue flame. And I'm not going to explain what I'm doing here, because that's not the purpose of this video. But I'm simply going to change this here flame to be some lightest color of blue. And obviously, the embers are still red because I haven't changed the colors of that. But now you can see how very quickly you have another asset that was very similar to our p underscore fire asset that is a blue and I could actually recapture the thumbnail image here as well save that out.

So you could see now on the thumbnail image that looks differently. If I didn't like the name of this asset, I could simply select it like I have right now hit f2. And I could call this p underscore blue new. Sure. And now maybe I want to relocate this asset to a different folder. Well that is simple.

The easiest way to To do that is to make sure that you have your sources panel here showing, like I do. And again, if you don't have the sources panel, you can click this button to toggle it on and off. And all you need to do is left click and drag it to another folder, I'm going to drag and drop it over here in this props folder. And when you release, it's going to say do you want to copy it here or do you want to move it here, so I'm just going to simply select move it here. And now if I jump into my practice folder, you can see that my particle is now there. Let's talk filtering options.

Next, I'm talking about this area of the Content Browser right here. And before we explore some of these, I'm going to click on our route content folder right here. And then with that selected, we can click on the filters button over here, and we can filter by certain asset types. So let's just say I want to search only by materials and maybe say particle systems that'll make it so that any thing, any particle or material located within any of these sub folders within the content folder are now displayed over here. Now you can whittle this down even further, you can see that our filters are right here material and particle system. If I was to click on material, right like this, that'll turn that filter off.

So now just the particle systems within the content folder are displayed. I can also turn it back on by simply clicking it or I can right click on it to enable just this, remove it, remove all filters or disable all filters, I'm going to remove them all for now. filtering options, very handy, please use them. Next I want to demonstrate some viewing options you have down here in the Content Browser and I'm talking about these options you can locate right under here. And to help with this, I am going to select my props folder. And I'm just going to make this window a little bit bigger here and if I If I come under my view options right here, what I can do is I can scale the size of the thumbnails, which is super helpful.

There's also something known as thumbnail edit mode, which is super useful for if you want to have a different angle to viewing your assets in here, and what do I mean by that? Well, I mean that when you click a thumbnail edit mode, you can jump on to any of these thumbnail images by simply left clicking it and once you left click on it, you can actually reposition how these assets are located in the thumbnail image. Now once you're happy with that, you can just click done editing right here, and you can see the asterisks show the changes have been made. So simply click on Save All right here to save your changes. Lastly, let's talk about how we can add more folders over here in our sources panel. Quite simple to do.

Simply select any folder That you want a folder to live under, such as Starter Content here, and I can right click with that selected and select New Folder. And I will simply call this sub folder one like so. That is a way you can add a sub folder, or you can select your Starter Content folder right here and over here on the right hand side, you can simply right click and select to add a new folder as well and I will call this sub folder to like so. Now, it's also worth noting that you can color these photos if you so choose. So what you can do is right click on a folder and go to set color. And within here, you're going to going to have a little color picker wheel that you can use to select a color.

Maybe I'll go with this blue color like so. I'll select okay. I can come under architecture for example. Apple go to set color. And I can choose to do a new color which will bring on that color wheel again or choose an existing color, like the one I just said. So that is going to do it all for this discussion on the Content Browser.
