Hi, and welcome to this brand new section on web scrapping. During this section of the course, you're going to learn the basics of web scraping from installing the Beautiful Soup module, which is a great Python module to work with, all the way up to scraping an e commerce webpage, extracting information about the products that are listed on that web page. And finally, saving this data to an Excel spreadsheet, and all of that in a simple and clean way, with no more than 50 lines of code including comments and blank lines. So sounds good, right? Well, before diving into the code, let's first install two modules that are crucial for performing web scrapping tasks. And these are beautiful soup and requests.

You can also find the necessary installation commands for both Windows and Mac OS in the upcoming notebook. Also in that notebook, you're going to find the links to the official documentation of each module. So you should go ahead and bookmark the two links, so you'll have them at hand whenever you need additional information. For now on my windows 10 operating system, I'm going to open up the windows command line, and I'll show you how to install these two modules. First for the requests module, just type in pip install requests. Make sure you are connected to the internet, hit enter and wait for the installation to finish.

Likewise, after you complete this step, type in pip install Beautiful Soup for again, wait for the installation process to finish successfully and then you're good to go. I have already installed both of these modules. So I want to do it again. Now. However, your task is to perform these two steps and I'll see you in the next video.
