Hi, and welcome to this section. Inside this section, you're going to learn how to automate some of your database related tasks. Without further ado, let's skip any introduction. And let's get straight to work. First of all, let's download the database software that we need for this section. And we are going to use Postgres SQL.
So go to Google and type in download, Boss GRI SQL, access the first link right here. I'm going to choose windows Since I'm running Windows 10. And down here, let's download the graphical installer. And I'm going to choose version 10 dot five. And as soon as this window opens up, you should click Save File. I have already downloaded the file.
So there it is. I'm going to double click this executable file. On the first window right here click next leave the installation directory The default one. So next, next again, now you should set up a password for the database super user. I'm going to enter my password Python three, and again, Python three, click Next. And finally next again, and now wait for the installation process to be successfully completed.
Okay, so after a couple of minutes, the installation process is complete, just click Finish. And now you're ready to go. In order to verify if you indeed have been working Postgres SQL installation, just search for it in the start menu. This is it right here. And I'm going to select p SQL. And this window opens up along with this prompt right here.
In order to increase the font. Let's go to properties and choose a bigger font size. Let's say 24. Okay, you will get this error right here and I'm not sure why however, Were the font size has been increased, so we are good to go. Also notice that this is the version right here of Postgres SQL that we currently have installed on this system. And you can also use the help command in order to get around inside this command line interface of Postgres SQL.
For example, entering backslash h at the prompt would give you a list with all the available SQL commands. And you might find this useful whenever searching for a particular command. Okay, so having that said, I'll see you in the next lecture to install yet another tool that we are going to use in order to automate our database tasks using Python and possibly SQL. So see you soon
