Congratulations you have completed your first video and you’re ready for your first activity.

Throughout these modules, you will be reflecting on, and evaluating your own life experiences. You will be building on the work you do in these initial modules, and in later activities, you will be downloading a number of resources to further support you. You will find it helpful to create an electronic folder for all this material, or alternatively, if you love journals and 3D folders, grab whatever works for you so you can refer back to your activities and keep anything that you print off in one place.

So let’s get started.

  1. Make a list of the activities/events/situations you find distressing, particularly the ones that brought you to this course. These events are dissatisfying for your needs. [You will find out more about these needs later]
  2. Now make a list of the activities/events/situations you find pleasurable. These events are needs satisfying. These preferred pictures will be situations and outcomes which are needs-satisfying for you. Because they are, they will not be stressful when you achieve them or at least something close to them or perhaps create an equally satisfying alternative.
  3. For the activities/events/situations you find distressing, record your preferred pictures or scenarios.

Please leave any comments or questions you have in the comments below and I will get back to you shortly.

See you in the next lesson.
