Hi, this is Mahmoud. Welcome to the Center for Inner Awakening. Today I want to talk a little bit about the importance of deep breathing. A lot of us are not conscious of how we breathe, we take very shallow breaths, and as a result, very little oxygen goes into your system. holistic practitioners claim that the more oxygen that goes into your body, the greater the level of your health. The more we breathe, the stronger our immune system will be.

I would like to demonstrate a very simple and at the same time, a very powerful breathing technique. It's called alternate nostril breathing. It's from the yoga system of healing. This breathing technique can help you with all kinds of health problems. It can help you with conditions such as asthma, blood pressure, heart problems, diabetes, arthritis. It can help you with skin problems, it can help you with eye problems, and a number of other conditions.

In some cases, some individuals are made a complete recovery from cancer just by doing large amounts of deep breathing. Disease cannot survive in an oxygen rich environment. The more oxygen in your body, the greater the level of your health. For thousands of years, the Indian sages have claimed that diseases are directly related to improper breathing. Your nose is directly connected to your brain and your nervous system. Whenever you breathe, always make sure you breathe in And out through your nose.

Your nose regulate the temperature in the air, and at the same time it filters the air before it goes into your body. According to the principles of yoga, the sun represents the right side of your breathing system and the moon represents the left side of your breathing system. So for a few minutes, your right side completely opens up and dominates while the left side is partially open. And this continues for a few minutes. After a little while your left side completely dominates and opens up while the right side is partially open. So this cycle of one side dominating over the over the other continues all the time.

However, for for a few very short moments, there comes a time when both sides are open, the right side and the left side. It is during the This time that you can experience the highest level of consciousness. Oxygen goes into every part of your body. There are many individual systems that we have within our body. We have our brain, our nervous system, our cardiovascular system or digestive system, the muscular skeletal system, so on and so forth. Every cell in your body requires proper oxygen in order for him to function properly.

Alternate nostril breathing can also be an excellent exercise to warm up before you meditate. So for those of us who are into meditation, or who would like to meditate, if you can do alternate nostril breathing as a warm up exercise. It can really make your brain relax, it can make your body relax. It brings your mind and your body into a relaxed state before you start meditating. So It's always a good idea to do that. There are three main components to each to each individual body, mind and spirit.

And you need oxygen to balance all of these three components. Now before you do your deep breathing, try to sit beside a window or a door and let some fresh air come in. I would now like to demonstrate the alternate nostril breathing technique. Take your right thumb. Plug your right nostril and breathe in through the left nostril nice and slow as much as you can. Take your middle finger and plug the left nostril and breathe out through the right nostril.

Now breathe in through the right nostril again. Switch again, plug your right nostril breathe out to the left nostril. Breathe into the left nostril again. Switch. Breathe out and breathe in. Switch, breathe out, breathe it.

Switch. Breathe out. Breathe in, switch, Breathe out. Breathe, breathe in. So on and so forth. Try to do this exercise for about 10 to 15 minutes a day.

You can do it early in the morning, or you can do it in the evening. If you seriously do this exercise for a few minutes a day, it can make a significant improvement on your health, it can have a significant impact on your wellness. It can help you with every aspect or aspect of your life. It can help you when you go to work, stress family situations, it can help you with your health. They can help you to meditate better. Oxygen means everything to us, every human being on the planet.

Every living being on the planet needs oxygen, so why not take in as much oxygen as you possibly can. So for a few minutes a day, try to practice this breathing exercise. And I think you'll find great results. So Take care for now and wishing you all the best
