Usually after your film festival submission and runs, most filmmakers would release their short film on a public screening platform like YouTube. Or if you're kind of impatient and don't want to wait to hear back from a bunch of film festivals, you can just start sharing your story now, simply upload your video onto YouTube and start sharing. It may seem that easy, but trust me, it is really difficult to get a lot of views. Regardless, a separate cause on using YouTube for promotion would be necessary as that is a step that I cannot really speak about as I didn't really go all the way out on YouTube. And instead, I was using film festivals to reach my audience, either way after about one year, and yes, it does take that long to hear back from film festivals when you have submitted to a bunch. I've uploaded the painter on to YouTube as an unlisted film on my own personal website.
Only just recently, I've decided To push it as a public video, and that's what I would recommend that all of you do, especially if you want to reach a mass audience. So, do you have your own completed short film to share after going through this course? If so, please post them on the q&a box and show off your masterpiece.
