Yes, finding casting crew. This is where the real hunt begins. So for my short film The painter, I found my crew members through schools. In this case, it was my school, the Savannah College of Art Design, where I found the bulk of my crew members. And it's a well known fact that lots of schools and film students are willing to work for free for credit. So try going back to alumni meetings and keep in touch with your school in general.
So you have continued access to these students. For cast members, posting on casting sites in your local area will work. Likewise, student actors are also a good option to consider. For my shot, I personally got a casting director to hunt for my cast members as I was having way too much work to do as a producer, director and visual effects supervisor. So this is a document that she gave me at a time. Once again, this is only optional and you didn't Not necessarily have to have a casting director.
But just so you are aware, this is an option as well. Remember, though, depending on your priorities and your small budget, it's all about finding the right person that not only fits the look of your character, but also is able to fit your shooting schedule, especially if your schedule is also tied to the availability of your story locations. Now, in your own quest in the creation of your shot, if you need any help, or have found some other resources to help in finding cast and crew, feel free to post on the q&a board and share it with the rest of us.
