Once you have your script, hopefully, you can finally start creating some visuals to the words. Or if you don't have your script ready just yet, try using your treatment. These visuals are what we call storyboards and concept art. Were like visual spokespersons for the script. They help appeal to people who prefer to see rather than read in order to visualize clearer and better your story idea. Proper storyboards are not just drawings, but can also include other details like visual effects information, any sounds or audio cues in the shot.

Basically, anything that makes the shots beyond just a visual, including any narrations, or character dialogue for each storyboarded frame. Now there will be specific departments that would rely on these storyboards and concept art more than others. For example, storyboards help cinematographers And also yourself to know what you're looking for in camera. So if you haven't already guessed, she has a quick example of the quick storyboarded sketches I did and as well with another guy did for my short film. As you can see, it's pretty simple and quick and you do get a better sense of how the story will play out for your shot. Now, in the case of the painter, which has some fantasy elements involved, I had to do along with the help of another concept artist, some concept art notes that this would also apply to you if your short film has some fantasy or sci fi elements involved.

Since concept art helps convey to production design and visual effects departments look and feel of these fantastical elements. In fact, the more realistic the concept art, the better. So yeah, some concept pots. I did. We're fanatical as you can see Not entirely realistic because I'm a Barbie girl in a Barbie I just kidding. I didn't say that.

Well anyway, I tend to have a leaning toward the fantasy type of styles. So, and this is harmons concept art. Pretty cool. Anyway, as long as you convey your vision as closely as possible, you're good. And once again with these kinds of cool images, feel free to post on the q&a board to share your storyboards or concept art and masterpieces. I personally would love to see the different kinds of styles out there for your own story vision.
