Hello, it's Lia Musto again from interview experts and profit. And welcome to module five. So within this module, we're going to be talking all about contacting your experts. So now from the previous module, you should have researched and found your experts and sorted out the questions that you're going to ask. So now it's all about getting on and contacting those experts. So you want to be contacting as many experts as you can find as many as you can, it doesn't hurt to contact them all.

The reason for this is they're not all going to say yes, unfortunately, not all the experts say yes, a good number of them will say no, for one reason or another. It doesn't mean anything, you know, they might just be really busy, you know, not have the time to do it, or it just might not interest them at all. But you want to be contacting as many as you can because you don't know how many are going to be saying yes. And you know, ideally you want to be having Four to six experts, I would say is a good number. I mean, you can have as many as you want, or as little as you want, you might only have one expert and you know, you're creating this massive long interview with one, but four to six experts is a good number. So in order to get four to six, to say, yes, you're going to be needing to ask a lot.

Because as I said, some will say no. So you want to be asking as many as you can to get as many say, yes. And there are several ways you can contact them. So you can start off by contacting them by email. So you can find out their email address and send them an email and contact them that way. You can also contact them by Facebook message, and this is what I use for most of my experts.

And some people might not think it's very professional, but let me tell you, all experts, everybody hangs out on Facebook. And I just think sending somebody a message on Facebook. It's really personal. And it kind of connects you a little bit better with them. It's not so you know, not Formal, you know, they're normal people, you know, the normal people doing normal things. And you know, getting a personal message is quite a nice thing to do.

And I can tell you that more of my responses and yeses came from sending a Facebook message. So I would highly recommend if they've got a face if they are on Facebook, which nine times out of 10 they are, you catch them on there. And the email is very popular as well. I also got a lot of responses from email. But usually with the email, it wasn't them personally, that I spoke with it was usually a team or an assistant or somebody like that. But with Facebook, it was actually them I was coming into contact with which is why I loved it so much.

So is speaking to them on a personal basis rather than through an assistant, which a lot of them do have assistants and teens because they're really busy. But there you go. And there's also contact forms on their blogs and websites. These are really great places to contact them or support desks because if you contact someone on to a support desk, you know, it's going to get looked at doesn't mean they're going to say yes, but at least you know, you're not going to be hanging around waiting for an answer. Because I, I had that unfortunately a lot of the time with some of the experts, I didn't get a yes or no. So I never really knew whether they you know what was going on.

And that's not a very nice feeling. But at least if you put it through a support desk or a contact form nine times out of 10, they're going to come back to you. And I wanted to add this in check out when they're online and what timezone they're in. This can be quite, um, you know, this can be quite chatty, not life changing, but it can really make a difference. That's what I was looking to say. Um, it can really make a difference if you contact them at the right time when they're actually online.

Now, the good thing is about a Facebook message. Usually you can see if they're active at that time, you can see it says active now on the little message bit when you come up to send it, but it's also really great to find out where they live, you know what country they live in, and try and send you know, research and look up that timezone and Trying send them a message when they're likely to be, you know, active working, you know, that's when you're likely to catch them rather than when they're sleeping at night and then they might get a bundle of messages or emails to the cat in the morning, they might not get a chance and just disregard it, try and get them when they're actually you know, working. So I just wanted to add that little tip in next I thought I did that I really checked out where people were like, what part of the world and I messaged them accordingly with their timezone.

So another great tip is don't send them a generic message, don't just put together a slap bang message, and send that same message to every single one of your experts. Now, if you're in the niche that I'm in, make money online, all the experts know each other, they all talk to each other. And if they get a message or an email, sent them with an opportunity, they'll be like, Hey, you know, they want to share that I've been approached to do this interview, you know, think it's really cool, blah, blah, blah. And then the next expert will be Hang on, I got that exact same message. You don't want to be getting into that trap. You don't want to be bashing out a generic message.

Because you'll find a lot of the experts do talk. So you want to make it personal to them and flatter them by knowing what they're about what they're up to. Again, it comes back to one of my favorite things, research. If you're gonna interview an expert, ask someone for an interview, do your research about them, find out all you can about them. Because when you're putting together your message, you can mention like products they've created or things they've done or say they've done something really massive recently, or you know how to sell out event or something, you can share that information with them and they'll really connect with you because they'll think Hang on. Leah has really gone out of our way to find out what I'm about and what I'm up to.

I'm going to give her a chance. So it's really good to make it personal and find out a lot about them. So you can put that within your message. And as I said they're mentioned their current projects and products. Really important, it keeps you on trend, it shows that you're up to date with what they're doing. Just a really great way to connect.

But keep all messages and emails to the point. So you can include all this, but you don't need to waffle on pages and pages short to the point. That's what you need to do with your messages. They haven't got time to be reading three pages of messages, they don't want to do that. They want to have a look at a message, quickly see what it is all about and go from there. And don't pester them either.

I would say to emails or messages is enough, you can send an initial message saying hey, this is what you know I wasn't etc. If you don't hear anything, maybe just send one more. But that's it. I wouldn't send any more. You don't want to sound desperate. You don't want to be pestering them.

They're obviously really busy. If they haven't come back to you. So just leave it and move on. So yeah, initial message and then one other if you don't hear saying I know you're busy, but I just wanted to, you know, send this on again. I think it's a really great opportunity to do that. But then that's it.

Don't send any more messages because you don't want to be seen to be desperate because that's not nice. So within the message, you need to have the following elements. And these are the elements that I had within my message that were really, really popular. So I had an introduction, I just introduced myself what I was about to say said, Hey, I'm Leah Musto. I'm looking to create this really awesome product all about list building. I'd really like to have you on board.

You know, that kind of thing. Just introduce myself on what I was all about. And then you flow into tell them what you want from them. So after I introduce myself, I say, you know, this really great opportunity. I'd really like to have you on board. What I'd love to do is interview you and ask you 10 questions that are top questions that I've researched and found on all the forums and blogs, and I really want to interview about them and get the answers to give to my customers.

So tell them what you want from them. They need to know what you want from them. And tell them as well, what's in it for them? You know, everybody's all about what's in it for me, what am I going to get out of this. And, you know, a lot of the time these experts don't want any payments or anything, you know, they're doing it to get their name out there, but they want to know what's in it for them. So you can say, you know, offer to give them an edited copy once you've done the interview, and that they can use it to give to their customers, you know, as a freebie or, you know, they can do whatever they please with it, they can use it to promote themselves.

So, you know, give them give them some opportunities, let them know what you want to do for them because it works both ways. They're doing you a favor by letting you and allowing you to interview them, give them something back, it's all about giving back and giving value and even at this stage, before you've even created anything, you can still be doing that and doing something like that will build bridges it will build relationships that you will sustain for years to come. So it's a really good thing to you know, give them something as well and you can add a brief sentence or two About how you know if them, as I said in the previous slide about researching their products and their current projects, you know, just put a brief sentence or two in there, how you how you found out about them, you may have purchased one of their products yourself, in which case you can put that in and, you know, give them a bit of feedback saying how awesome you found the product, you know, it's all making it very personal and not generic.

And that's what you need to be doing. And you really, really need to sell your idea to them as well, so they'll get on board. So you really need to make it sound really positive, really energetic, you know, something that's going to be really fantastic for them to jump on board. And that's a great you know, great thing to put within your message. And then you need to leverage with them. So you need to mention other experts on board.

This will put you in a success by association situation, which I've mentioned in one of the previous modules. So what I was doing is once I've got someone on board, I was saying hey Amy, I would really lovely to have you on board doing this product. By the way, I've already got Matt on board because I also interviewed Matt Wolf, who's another big Iam guru. As I've got Matt wolf on board, he's really looking forward to doing this interview. And I'm asking him all these questions that everybody wants to know the answers to, I'd really love it if you would join me as well and be a part of it with him. And you'd be surprised by putting other people's names in and mentioning that it does the world of good and people all people don't want to miss out they want to, you know, it's all competition they want to get on board, they don't want to miss out on some awesome product that's going to come out.

So it's really good to put that in there. And then after you've put that in, you just want to thank them, thank them for the time for reading the message, you know, brief short, those elements, you can make them really short punchy, into the point. So that's all that you need within the message. And it does work because, you know, I use this and I got all my top gurus by sending out a message that was structured out exactly like this, and they just sign off with your name, you know, you can put you know your details on of how they can contact you. And just Leave at that, you know, you can say you can email me here, or you can get me on Skype or give them a variety of ways to contact you, because everybody likes to contact people differently. They might just ping you back a personal message, which is, is usually nine times out of 10.

What happens but I did actually get a couple that would then email me, rather than doing a Facebook message in response to my Facebook message. So it's always good to give all your contact details so that they can get in touch with you. So that's the end of that module, and it's now on to module six. So it's really great. Once you do that, you can just sign off the message, and then that's it. That's all you need to do.

So that's the end of module five, we'll be on to module six.
