Okay, now I want to go over some tips for recording these video testimonials. And this is just kind of broad, this will apply to the four W's and the longer versions as well. So make sure that you always have the client able to read the read of the four w testimonials, I make sure I print it out, put it on a piece of paper, print it and read because it really stands out visually helps people read and understand, Hey, I'll have to focus on these little black things unless they really get lost and don't understand what you're trying to give as an example. Anyways, they'll end up just looking up being able to play the perfect part, because you don't want someone reading off, you know, little cues. Even if it's small cues. It's just something that just kind of triggers inside of everyone's minds like, Oh, this must be fake.

And it's not that it's fake. It's just that it's guided because a lot of people don't feel like they know what to say. And that's kind of the issue with many testimonials. People will talk and talk but they don't know how to quite filter out the good and the bad and just simply say, Here's, you know, right to the point, this is what he helped me with. This is why I love it, here's why you should use it as well. Rather, what most people tend to do is unfortunately, if you don't give them these kind of guidelines, they'll end up creating this elongated story.

And then you have a lot to chop down on. And it can get messy, let me tell you. So make sure that you just obviously have this printed out and ready for him. And it gets edited down to very quick, easy commercials if you want for testimonials. Second, use the rule of thirds, that's pretty easy, don't have someone exactly in the middle, you want to have them a little bit off center. The reason being is it creates more of a background a better effect.

It's just something that is best. The only reason that I don't do that here for teaching is of course because I'm over to the lower third of the screen. So you don't have to do it quite when it's you know, the way that I use it. Unless of course you know, I'm switching around I'm saying oh here like this, you I'm taking up the full screen. But still, I like to try and just use the rule of thirds, almost anything that I do for video production. Number three, you have a big gray gray background, you know, maybe a lot of visuals going on, then it's quite all right, you can just send her in on the person deliver, you know that face to the camera moment where it looks as if they're talking right to the camera.

You don't want to do that too often. But in the shorter testimonials, it's quite all right. That's a natural position. When you get into the longer testimonials, where it's literally almost like a case study, instead of more of a testimonial. That's where you want to kind of, you know, get pan shots have a rule of thirds where they're off to the side, and you know, it's even maybe looking well, I'll get into the actual adjustments of degrees and where things should be pointed. But number four use stabilizers for your shots.

I highly recommend this. The reason being is not only do you want to stabiliser they'll just be a standard but you should probably get one For as I recommend your camera phone because camera phones nowadays, record just as well as basically anything else out there. So you're going to be getting really great shots as long as you know you have a really updated smartphones recording 10 ADP, and you have good lighting, you're going to get great shots. So with that get something that is like a stabilizer, it'll naturally hold on like a unit so that you can move your phone around and it won't be shaky. It's literally called a stabilizer. And then you can have a camera stand as well, that naturally adjusts up from four feet to seven and a half feet.

And I'm going to be giving you kind of a list of these things as well. So that way you can just go get them yourself. And then 720 p camera is what I suggest at least nowadays you should really be getting 10 ADP and above. For the audio setup. I spent quite a bit but I'm going to be giving you a few different interfaces that you can use, it'll hook right into your smartphone. So that way again, it's a really cheap and inexpensive recording setup that gets great audio.

And then if you are recording a lot, obviously just upgrade your memory card, they usually cost 15 bucks or less nowadays for 30 to 64 gigabyte. And then the other thing that you want to do is just make sure that you double check your audio, do a quick run through, you know, things like that five minutes of planning can save five hours of work. I actually did a video recording one time with a testimonial. And we didn't have the audio quite right. So everything was just muffled, and fuzzy. It just was terrible.

Basically, we wasted all of our time, all of our money, everything was shot done out it was just a terrible thing to go through. So checking your audio and it'll never happen to me again. But I don't want it to ever happen to you even once, check your audio five minutes of testing can save five hours of work. Let me tell you. So that's it. That's basically the process and the tips that I can give you for getting yourself started, I'm going to also include a little a sheet for all of the things that you can buy to start recording these testimonials.

If you already don't have a smartphone I'm going to recommend one is good for recording. You don't even have to get smartphones nowadays with prepaid plans, you can even get smartphones that have, you know, maybe cracked screens or things like that or have bad. I think they're called SMS, which means they had bills that weren't paid. And I picked up some really inexpensive phones don't even have one right here. Gosh, I don't know what this is. It's like the most recent Galaxy S whatever, you know, s eight or I can't even keep up with them.

But I just got this you know, it was only I think 150 bucks, but if I tried to buy this brand new without all the issues, it would probably be I think something like 850 or 900. And then if you wanted to try and get one without a click Contract it's like 1200 it's in crazy. So that's what I suggest. Just get whatever the most recent best up to date phones probably are. And like I said, Get some with bad ESN or that have unpaid bills behind them because you don't need to use them as a phone. I mean mainly just use this as a recorder.

As you can see, you know, I got a phone already so I just throw this back here. Don't need to use it ever except when I'm recording people are on the go. So with that, those are all my tips. I hope they definitely help you record a better video review. And you can even give a few of these tips to people across the pond or you know that are a better way to say this is they aren't there with you physically so that way you can kind of get some tips to them, let them know hey, when you're recording this video review, just make sure you have good lighting some audio. We need to hear you properly.

I have quite a few people have submitted video reviews and just I couldn't hear him like is just like, and you sometimes need to tell people you know, just before you send that video over to me just play it back, you know, watch yourself, you'd be amazed there's a lot of people, they'll actually invest time because they know, they don't know, you know, they may end up getting seen by 10s or hundreds of thousands of people and they don't want to look like a fool. So having them just telling them to play that video back to themselves, that they'll end up sometimes re recording and they'll get the best version and send that to you, rather than you having to chase after them and tell them all these things. It's kind of like setting the expectations up front, and you're going to get a lot more in return.
