I'm your instructor Heather Hubbard. I've been making videos professionally since 2003. But really, I started my video creating passion. When I was in middle school, I grew up with a dad who loves shooting home videos. And so I don't know, maybe it was in my blood. If only we had had smartphones back then it would have been so much easier for me create a lot of cool videos.

But as it was, I had to go the professional route had to learn how to make videos using real gear, computers, etc. Once smartphones showed up, though, and they continued to get better and better through the years, I really fell in love with this medium. And I've been teaching people how to use their smartphones to make videos for the last couple years. Enough about me though, I have five tips that are going to help you make the most of this course. First, go in order. This course is taught linearly and each section builds on the skills from the last section.

Second, rewind as needed. I go through a ton of examples throughout the course and it's easy to miss something but that's the joy of a digital course. You can rewind and re watch as much as you need to number three Practice, I worked in the training department at Chipotle a for over four and a half years. And I learned that people have different learning styles. But one thing I know for sure is that most people think it's easier to retain new information if they're actually doing the new skill that they're learning. So don't just watch and think you know how to actually go do go practice throughout this course.

Fourth tip, keep your expectations in check. I know you all want to be expert video makers right away. But as with any skill, it takes time. And again, practice, the first video you make is not going to win your an Oscar, but don't let that discourage you from making more videos, I promise it's gonna get easier, and it's gonna look better. Number five, take a deep breath. It can be tedious, and it's definitely very technical.

You're not only learning the art of editing, but you're also learning how to use an app on your phone that's new to you can a master which is my phone editor app that we're going to learn is pretty user friendly, but I guarantee that you'll still get frustrated. This is when you take that deep breath and you Maybe take a break and then come back and keep learning. So those are my big tips. This course is all about editing. So you'll need to download Canna master from the App Store or Google Play Store. It is free to use if you don't mind a watermark on your videos.

Otherwise they have a low price subscription service. I will be demonstrating using an iPhone. So if you have an Android, the apple looks slightly different, but the functionality is the same. So go download kinam Master, make sure you have some video footage on your phone. Let's go ahead and get started.
