Paying attention mindfulness by Sam Chase
Sam Chase asks you to pay attention during his opening talk at TEDxNYU, deftly exploring what it means to be truly mindful and how every one of us can incorporate the practice into our lives.
Exercise
Begin a meditation practice (if you don't already have one). Meditate for 5 minutes after each mandatory asana class (going forward).&nbsp;&nbsp;
After Savasana, come to a comfortable seated position, typically Sukasana, and sit with a tall spine (crown of the head above the tailbone).&nbsp; You may find that sitting on a block or pillow is best. It's fine to take a chair if sitting hurts your back (but still keep a tall spine).
To focus your mind, try one of the tools mentioned in the Internal Limbs video such as the breath, an object, a mantra, etc. When the mind wanders off, gently bring your focus back to the object of focus and start again. Keep it up for 5 minutes.
