What you need to know if you're going to export successfully to the 75% or more of the world where corruption is endemic

Transcript

Hi, this course is about the park corruption plays in international sales, and how you should deal with it. Because you will have to do with it. I know all the ethical arguments against being involved with corruption. But I'm telling you if you decide in advance that you're never going to take part in any sale in which there's corruption, you can forget about doing business with three quarters of the world. And that includes the countries that have most money to spend. My name is john Lynch, I've been an international sales as a salesman, and as a sales director for more than 40 years.

I work mostly for American and British companies. And I've lived on every continent except Antarctica. And the last five years I've been there on the ground in some of the most dangerous countries in the world, including Libya, Iraq and Nigeria as well as more slew various places like North America, South Africa, Vietnam, the UAE, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. What I'm saying is, this is not some theoretical course. I've been there, done that got the T shirt. Oh, and I wrote the international sales handbook.

There now it is. When you finish this course, you might find that book a helpful aid memoir to have with you when there's something you want to check. CHAPTER THREE deals with corruption. You don't need any previous experience or skills to learn from this course. You don't even need to be a salesperson, because what I have to say will be as valuable to small and medium sized companies, where it's the owner who does the selling, as it will to companies with a whole big sales force. If you put into practice what you learn on this course, you'll be able to conduct yourself safely in some of the most difficult markets in the world.

Most importantly, you'll increase your sales revenue, your increase your profits, and you'll stay out of trouble. The first video was all about the ethical arguments surrounding corruption. I'll see you there.
