Do you already know how to play an E minor chord, if so, feel free to skip this video. If you don't know it, then keep watching. And I'll teach you exactly how to play it. So here we have the simplest chord on the guitar in my opinion, and that's an E minor, and it looks like this. So with this chord, we're actually leaving most of our strings out there. But we're just gonna put down our fingers on two of them.
And so most people will use their middle finger and the ring finger for this. So these two fingers not flipping you off just showing you which ones you should be using. So it'll look a little something like this. And then you want to comfortably rest your hand somewhere on the back of the guitar. And some people will do like this like rock on symbol right here, because you're not using these other fingers. So it'll just be those two fingers.
And you'll be on the second fret of both the A string, which is the second one from being the lowest, lowest and pitch highest from the ground. Up pressing that one with your middle finger, and then with your ring finger. You'll be Pressing right here. That's the D string also on the second fret. And it does hurt a little bit at the beginning. One thing that will help is if you move your fingers closest to this metal thing right here, that's the fret.
So you want to be right over here. get nice and cozy with it and it'll be easier to play. And then just keep strumming that until you feel like all of the notes are coming out nice and full, and it sounds good. I have a much longer lesson on how to play this chord and all of the chords that come later in the course. And so if you need more help with this chord, they just jump into that but if you're feeling good with it by now then just keep watching and i'll teach the next quarter
