DESCRIPTION: The first night is always going to be quite daunting for your puppy, they are in a new environment with new people with new scents, sights, and smells. What you probably will find is they will actually fall asleep quite well quite quickly because they're going to be absolutely shattered from the whole day. We put them to bed and we think they're okay and then they wake in the night, it can become very traumatic for them if they're unsure where they've been, especially if you can imagine they've been with their mum, they've been in a different environment and maybe with their brothers and sisters as well for all, and that's all they've ever known. My recommendation is that someone sleeps with the puppy for the first night, so either someone sleeps downstairs with the pup next to them in a crate or a bed, or you take the puppy upstairs with you into your room in a crate. In all honesty, the easiest way to get a puppy to settle is to have them in your room with you for a few weeks...
