It may seem as if your breath is completely automatic and in no need of attention from you, but believe it or not, there are ways to breathe that are better for your body than others. Your body was designed so that all breathing happens through your nose. It is also wondrous and amazing in that it provides a plan B in the event that you can't breathe through your nose. But mouth breathing is not meant to be your primary method of breathing. Learning to be conscious and aware of your breath can maximize the levels of oxygen and other components of air to benefit your body the most. It can even alleviate some symptoms and conditions like sleep apnea and asthma. Of course, these practices are not meant to replace the advice and treatment of your doctor. Only to give you additional information and greater power over your breath. Today's meditation will be all about your breath.
