I want to start the lesson with an example. Take a moment to look at this paper and the message that it contains. Flowers is the keywords that stands out. At the top part of the page, we have evocative sentences referring to flowers. In the central part, we have information about the company sending flowers, and at the bottom of the page contact information. Despite the fact that we have so much information, we easily can find the here key and search for what we need inside the page.
How comes for the title, we use a heavier mass, but is it all about mass? Let's try to reduce it and give the same mass to all the text blocks. As you can see, the title has lost importance but all other information of the page compensable The reason for that is the fact that similar information stay in the same section of our page, we just introduced the concept of unity and proximity. Our mind has a particular talent to group elements together. It's a really useful technique in everyday life. If we are in the city, it's easy to group people, public transport, or shops.
It's much easier and faster to reach what we need. Because we simply know in which group of elements we should look for that particular thing. Our perception works exactly like that on piece of paper, it is not limited to everyday situation. Group similar elements together in order to increase readability. Divide your concepts in main sections. Usually, you're able to create a top down hierarchy of your concepts.
Once you group them, create sections in your list. One section for one topic. similar topics have to stay inside the same section. Each section has to be divided by the sections. And to do that, we have learned some really good tools in the first part of this course. We can use different colors or different shapes, or just put a simple line between them.
Don't forget about the balance, make all the section work together and sustain each other. I am glad to announce that we have analyzed together our first design and we are conscious of every single element that is composing it. That means that right now, you're almost ready to create your own good design. But let's not hurry there are a few more things that we have to learn. In the next video, we will talk about the alignment
