Hi, everyone! My name is Barbara, and I’m a mobile digital artist: most of the pieces I create are shot and edited on my iPhone. I love what I do – the only limits to creating are the many apps available and your imagination.

 In this course, we’re going to learn the basics of becoming a digital painter on your phone. This is a class about creativity, not technical instruction – it’s all about unleashing your inner artist! I encourage you to ignore any doubts you have about your abilities and have fun. That’s the best way to learn!

We will be learning how to turn a photo into a painting using one of my favorite apps, Brushstroke. I love this app because you have a LOT of control. You can choose different painting styles, colors, and canvases, and adjust each one of these elements to your liking. These controls help in making each digital painting unique. You can even sign your work and have it printed to hang in your home.

I use an iPhone, so that’s what I’ll be teaching on. Currently, Brushstroke, from Code Organa, is not available for Android phones. However, there are many other painting apps that out are, and I hope to cover them in the future.
