Pelletizing your group, module three. And the objectives of this module are to look at the different ways you can monetize your groups. We've touched on this through the business impact, but just to reiterate what we've been going through, looking at where community fits in your business, and also how you can create a paid membership site out of your Facebook group. So that's pretty cool. So what part of your customer journey does your community serve? So we've spoken about this, but what I want you to think about is not just a Facebook group as a standalone product, but part of a larger product ecosystem.

So here is solo school with Alexi and she has a membership site and I shared this earlier on the course. And she has various modules and bundles in there, but it's all connected to a Facebook group. So the Facebook group was taken away or something happened to it. She'd still have all her collateral and all her assets on her website. So it's important to think about it. It could be your community is just just the way To keep people warm and just to give other support, and it might not be that you actually directly monetize that community, it might just be there to serve another purpose to build the trust and the brand awareness.

So don't always worry if you haven't monetized it directly, because quite often it will be an indirect monetization. So as I was saying, brand awareness that communicates high levels of content, so the videos, blog posts, questions, linkers discussions, so members get to know you, and they get to trust your brand, because of all the content. And this is the example we've used about for and we're speaking about that before in different slides, but just just keep reminding yourself of the stuff that I've shared because it makes it fit in and make you understand it a lot easier. So there's after sales, community support, so someone buys a product, and then they get access to a Facebook group. And this is the example of digital marketer. And again, we've spoken about that and we've also support A token can't speak.

Now we've also spoken about the apple support communities. So always think about where you are in the product ecosystem. So create brand ambassadors, these are your super users, they promote the brand that being asked them for free. Get businesses on the radar, and they build trust. So there's Yelp elite. They're super users.

There. They are the super hosts and Airbnb, and people like me who support people like Daniel Priestley. So here's Yelp, which is good reviews. And if you're the top ones, you get invited out to special events, and all these kind of things. And then people really believe your belief and your reviews. So yeah, you're part of the Yelp elite squad.

So use events, to connect your members and then you can monetize these events. So you can use meetup to create an event but then charge people to attend it so you can create this online community. Then also monetize it by creating offline events as well. So here's another example. So here's Shah wasman. And she has the freedom collective, which is a free Facebook group.

But on the back of it, she has a website, she went to boot camp, she does training, she runs an event called the woman retreat, which is for women. And these are all really great ways to start monetizing, which you might you might think I'm putting a lot of time into this to work and I see the direct correlation, but it could be in other in other forms, like I said, so ecommerce, so you can sell merchandise to women who don't drink is a community I've worked with. We've built the Facebook group up to over 2000 and the leader of that Stephanie, she sells t shirts, and she runs events as well, but she's sold branded t shirts and have been really wanting to buy them. So she's had to repurchase themselves and again, so things like that can really be a good way to monetize your community.

So there's me wearing a couple of T shirts that have come from communities I'm part of. And I logic is a community platform. And they gave me that. So it's just it just highlights things. It's kind of, it's a way to get people aware of the brand. And it gets super users excited about the brand.

So really, you can't go wrong with that. You can use affiliate links as well. So join up something like Amazon Associates, and you can use affiliate links. So people who click through from your community go by and you get a kickback for that. So there's different ways to do that. You can do it on eBay, you can do it on an Amazon.

So it's worth looking into so you can look into Amazon Associates and Minnetonka community that way. Sponsorships really important. So I'm working with a new community and we're building a community Energy professionals. And we're going to get sponsorship from bigger companies to support the community. And you can advertise these sponsors within the community, and advertising events, give them discounts or access to products. So really, there's lots of opportunities, I think about how sponsorship might work in your area.

So to finish up this module, we're talking about a way that you can use a Facebook group to build a paid membership site. So in terms of turning into a paid membership site, which of these descriptions fits how you think about building your community, so my communities like the Field of Dreams, builders, and they shall come? So that's one approach. The other approach is my community is like a barn raising, there is a leader, a plan and a community of members who are willing to help. And that is what we're talking about. We're talking about creating something where people come together to create something which in this instance is a paid membership site, and the user exists members in your Facebook group to put that together, get their input and move the whole thing forward.

So firstly, if you have a current group and it's got people engaged in there, and you've been running for a while you share with your group why you need to create a more sustainable business model. So you can say, we're running this event, this community, but we need to get more money in for X, Y and Z. And and say we want it member supported and we want to validate it, there's something a need to build someone else. So get in enroll people, enroll people in the whole process. And then make plans so look at the business impact you're hoping to achieve. So maybe you want 500 members paying 10 pounds a month for argument's sake.

Think about why it'd be good to move away from Facebook. Do you need more privacy? Do you need more control? Do you need to be able to add different features that you can't do through Facebook but don't overthink it? Write down a few things. You could have First founding members, and then think about what you need to validate during this process.

So what you need to find out from members to see if they're really willing to pay. So you need to find out, for example, if there's enough demand for a paid membership program, which is not using the Facebook group platform, because you don't want to go to too much trouble if there's no demand. So the way you do this is, share a video or post and invite your members to join a secret founding members group. So for joining this group, you could offer founding member status, exclusive access, invite the members to be part of the process, so you give them access to a year long membership program on launch. So what happens is say you're going to launch in September. In June, you invite people in your existing Facebook group to a new secret group for founding members.

You say you're going to charge the 99 pounds, but when we launched the paid membership group, which would be in September, they will get To reduce fee, and always be known as founding members, and aside from that, they get to build it with you. So their input matters. So for 99 pounds, they're writing right at the beginning, they feel part of something bigger. And if they're super users, they'll be really keen to be part of this. So that's the way you do it. So once you've done that, you send people to a landing page.

So a landing page is a place where you can collect payment. It can just be a simple page, so you can use Wix calm or optimized press. There's other ones available, lead, lead pages, lead pages, and there's clickfunnels. They're a bit more expensive, but you connect that to your PayPal or you can just send them to your PayPal account, get them to pay there, and then become a founding member. Then, once you're in the secret group, you add them into it, and you have to be friends with them to add them into the secret group. There isn't even an option, but it's not very reliable.

And then once you've got them in this new group, so you've got this close group, you move into the new group, it's a secret group, you share your vision, your mission, your values, what you want to do what you want from this paid membership site, and then start including them in the process. So talk about what you want to create. So we will create a paid membership won't have events and brand ambassador events and ask for opinion, would you come to a paid event? and engage them say, Where would you hold the event? What would you do at the event? How long would the event be?

What platform Would you like to be or get their recommendations? And when the time's right, and when you have all this information, move them into this new platform. So I hope that gave you a little bit of an overview. And so once you move them over to the new platform, you start testing it, start populating it with content, so use these members to populate and start answering the question if you don't open up a paid program and no one being there, to start populating it. Start using the members to create the content. And then now you have your super users, the ones that you know, again to engage with you.

Now you can move this open the community to others. And when they arrive, it's already thriving is already active magic. So here's a little bit of a graph that shows that, say Facebook close group at the top. And then you announce it, see if your super users are on board. So if you announced it, your group knows anything, but maybe this is not a good idea. On the flip side, you could have built a whole paid membership program and no one's care.

So see if your CPUs are on board, validate your ideas, create a landing page, offer the founding members benefits, move them across to a secret Facebook group, share your vision and mission, ask them questions, polls and call on their expertise. And then the barn raising is start your new platform of Facebook. So there's other things There's other ways you could have, for example, there's something called mighty networks, they you can build community on mighty networks. And it's not a Facebook platform, and then launch the public when populated content. So there you go for. So you have completed all of Module Three.

So you have so many insights now, and you're ready to move on to the final module, which is module four. So congratulations folder.
