The Assistant Coach or Referee can walk around and do a quick check that students are:

Doing the assignment.
Asking if they are struggling or understanding the assignment.
Doing a quick spell check for accuracy.

Remember that speaking and memorizing is more important than being a great speller. Correct errors and encourage the player to go slower when copying the words. For the struggling spellers, ask them to come early or stay after class to cover areas of opportunity. There is usually a pattern when we make errors.
Remind them they are copying for accuracy and that the drawing page is a second opportunity to write the words from memory. They can always double-check themselves after they complete the drawing page.
Lastly, at the beginning of class, go around the room and ask players to share their answers to the weekly challenge. Making this a habit will help reinforce the importance of practicing independently to gain confidence.
