Welcome to learn to color comic books, advance cut and grad style overview. If we just go through the overview for this course, first thing you'll probably notice is that this course is a far more boiled down, then learn to color complex one on one. Basically, the reason for that is because we're not going to be going through all the rigmarole of trying to set up Photoshop and learning about brushes and whatnot, we're going to be just taking what you already learned learn to color complex one on one, and diving right into rendering this piece. So you'll notice in this overview, one of the first things I mentioned is you will be as you have a pre assignment, say do your own flats. Tyler. Yeah.

Basically, the approach to doing flats is going to be the same here as it was learned to click on books one on one, so you should know how to do that. And I'm not going to be wasting your time just going through what I've already shown you. So yeah, so before you start on the main, the main course videos, you're going to want to download the line art, which was provided by the legendary Kevin Hawk good. You can see a little detail over here in the header. And you can, you know, apply your own flats, if you want to try to mimic what I've done. You know, that's up to you, though, I would encourage you to also, you know, start learning to make your own color choices.

So you can, you know, start to figure out what works and what doesn't. Alright, the, the first section that we'll be going through is I'm actually going to show you how to generate a background. As an engineer. I'll be showing you how you can combine Certain Photoshop filters and settings to create a dynamic background and you can kind of see it in the detail the most zoomed in Anyways, this piece is a very sparse background is very open. So instead of just leaving it flat or just putting a basic grad over it, I'm going to show you how to do something a little bit more dynamic and a little bit more visually interesting. So then from there, we're going into the, you know, the main point of the, of this course, on the rendering, rendering style.

And again, it's going to be taking, you know, in learn complex one on one, I showed you a very basic cutting grant style. This one's going to be a bit more detailed, as you can kind of see here and this detail in the header. And so I'll be showing you how to layer your cuts and grads to build up the detail. And I don't use an extreme amount of layers. When I'm doing this usually three to six I would say I try to keep it as simple as possible. You know, but I show you the basic basically how to do that.

And then second part of that will be creating shapes that complement the line, the line work, you know, as far as mimicking the style of the line work, because this piece is a little bit stylized, but also how to you know, kind of suggest difference in texture and you know, the surface and this I'll probably be breaking up into a couple sections. Since there's two figures in the piece, I'll do a section on each figure. And then finally, once again, special effects and we did go through special effects and learn to color complex one on one. But special effects you know, I feel is very important with each piece you do and so I kind of want to show you my decision making process on what I do and I'm also show you a few other options you could apply yourself if you choose to do so.

And so, basically In conclusion, point of this course, you know is, one, make your own choices more than an hour accomplish one on one, definitely want you to, you know, don't necessarily follow what I do just, you know, observe what I do and then try to do your own thing with it. And of course, you know, at the end of the day, make sure you're having fun because if you don't, what's the point of it?
