Alright, so now we're going to start rendering this guy and armor here. So first we're going to go down to our first highlight layer underneath the thickness group back on. And for this, you'd like to start off with just a very gentle under rendering, just to start laying down some highlight values but very gentle. So we're just going to go with the main round brush, soften it up, and I'm going to select the lighter area of his armor. I'm just going to put down some very soft, gentle highlights, nothing too strong. Just began to very barely defined some nice shapes.

Alright, I'm gonna move over to the bluer area here. Now I can already see as I'm trying to do it the I want the highlights for this area to actually be a bit more blue than it is. So I'm going to go ahead And select the area with or the layer with our highlight cover. So get off the mask and I am going to try filling it with this blue here. Not white, I'm gonna select the next blue, next slightly brighter blue to 40% fill. I think that looks good.

So I'm going to do that on each layer now. Right, I like that. I go back to our mask on the first layer. I'm just gonna continue doing this sound might actually toned down this leg just slightly. I'm gonna go back in I think that'll do it, they're gonna go into the skin tone. I think I can already tell that's got a little bit more pale than I'm going to want.

So I'm going to go over to the actual layer Get off the mask. Let's select this red. Just do a 40% fill. Yeah, that's better gets a little bit more of a pinkish you do that on each layer. ago, I go back to our original mask oops. Think I might actually change that highlight color to go on to the layer.

So that's basically how I tweak my highlight colors as I go. Yeah, I like that a little bit warmer into that the second layer. I want to leave the original on the third level. Cuz I'm going to want a lighter highlight anyways for that one on the hair. Let's tweak this a little bit. All right, so then I'm just going to go in and certain areas or I know I'm not going to want a highlight I'm going to remove it All right, so this is our underlying highlights.

Let's save it there. Alright, so now we're gonna move to the highlight layer two. And we're going to start actually putting in our initial cuts. Now, few things on this guy that you would want to be thinking about one, making my cuts is one, you can tell it's quite reflective. So I'm going to try and make him look reflective. And typically how you do that is a reflection really reflects the area around you.

So a lot of times you would get, like the horizon and the sky, so you would see kind of like it's already starting to do here where it's darker here and then there's a highlight right next to it, kind of creating the illusion of a horizon the sky. But also, you know, Kev, you know, draw some very nice stylized, chunky lines. So I'm going to want my cuts to also, you know, kind of follow that. So that's gonna be a little bit stylized. So first, I'm gonna put a highlight here on the leg. And also, you're going to want to be thinking about, you know the form.

This is basically a cylinder. I'm putting a highlight up the center, to make a scene to make it seem a bit more rounded. You know, of course, I call it cutting grad because, you know, initially this style was used with a gradient tool, which you can do but I like using a soft round brush gives you a little bit more control. Believe I mentioned that in learn the color one on one. Good. Since this foots kind of twisting back, I'm going to try and make this highlight a little toned down.

I was good. Oh, the space Is here to help make it look shiny. And to make these nice and bright. All right, and you can already start seeing how about you, you know, layer up these details start Become a little bit more flashy. You start getting a sense of the finished piece already. For less than half my color proofing on so let's do that so we can see what it looks like and seeing why okay Actually since this is under, I'm going to create a bit of a shadow.

Chest to get more of a sense that this foot is further back. Just gonna go ahead and push this back a little on the first I'm not gonna completely take away we put down I can see this well looks like on the first layer. I go back to mask on layer two. I'm gonna try to create my cuts a little bit to help define the anatomy of these legs here. The brush to kind of give a sense that these shapes are actually around it has some dimension to it. I'm just gonna put some light highlights on the shapes here.

So that's a little bit of light but still mostly in shadow. There we go. All right. Now these actual like armor pieces here Okay, I'm going to create the shapes a little bit to first of all kind of match this you know stylize Look how it's drawn. But also the boat define the shape and also show the little bit of shine Enos of this game is a little bit more shiny than the suit even see more kind of like reflected lights and stuff on it. Do the hand just don't like the hand trying to keep in mind you know the plains of it.

So which surfaces are going to get hit with light more than others help to find out a bit more All right here again, a bit more reflective. So, going to go ahead and exaggerate that even more. So a bunch of different reflection striations here. I want to go back into the rest of the suit areas this area here All right now here's the kind of want the fade a little bit going under neath its chin there was kind of keep my brighter highlight towards the center of the shape just helped create a little bit depth Let's get a little bit more up there. There we go. All right now on the skin.

Want to try to bring out the shapes I'm playing to the face, bit There's the nose. Let's hear I'm trying to hide the shape of the cheeks in the upper lip area. is crazy gentle shadow going. You know where the elevation of the face goes down. bottom lip here. I create a sphere for the chin.

I don't like that. House decent back push back a little bit. Yeah. I think that works. Let's go a little bit a highlight here to the teeth. I think uh, probably honestly finish up these things.

More dimension the teeth. Go go back down here. This little thing it's gonna be glowing so I'm going to have the interior part brighter for this Like that, I'm just going to do a fill. Now I believe all that's left is the hair. Let's go ahead and grab some highlights on the hair here. Little pounds there.

There we go. works like that might push back a little bit There we go. Now I just have this arm actually almost missed it. Now I was pretty good. So let's save that. And I think that's a pretty decent place to take a break.
