Hi, and welcome to the course all about Lyme disease from diagnosis to treatment and prevention. Why did I choose the topic of Lyme disease? You might be wondering, Why did I choose this topic? Or even more important question is why should you learn more about Lyme disease? Well, this topic was chosen for several main reasons. There has been a dramatic increase in the incidence of Lyme disease in the US.

Also, Lyme disease is the second most common vector borne illness and the most common tick borne illness in the country. According to the CDC, And also it carries a high more validity rate that is the ability to cause disease when a person is infected. Furthermore, the distribution of Lyme disease across the country has increased from those 14 states in which it is most commonly found to those which are neighboring to those states. And finally, of course, it was the topic of my graduate study. My graduate research topic was on borrelia burgdorferi ideation of Lyme disease. It's entitled ASP C in the pathogenesis of borrelia burgdorferi.

Who is teaching the course? I am Dr. Sunita semana, Polly has having an interest in the basic mechanism of disease. processes I have pursued a PhD program. My dissertation work as I have mentioned before is entitled autopsy in the pathogenesis of borrelia burgdorferi.
