So now we need to have a look at domain authority and page authority. And we're going to use one of Moses tools here. So he says, most calm, and we're gonna use research tools forward slash o s e, and that is open Site Explorer. So either use this link to go to that page, or just search for open Site Explorer. Now domain authority is the authority a domain has an R page authority is what authority a particular page has, in comparison to the other web pages on the internet. So let's go there and have a look.
So here's the open Site Explorer tool, and it allows just to put the URL in here, and then we can hit search, and we're going to see some domain authority. So what you've got is the URL business photography, it has a score of 14 out of 100. It has a page authority of 28 out of 100. And there's some other data there but what we're interested in here is the main authority in the patient. Refer to because as we work on our SEO for our local business, these should improve. This is a general measurement of how authoritative our domain is or our pages when someone's looking for a certain term.
So we want to get that as high as possible. Now, remember, in a local search, you're not competing worldwide, you're competing with other local businesses, so you only have to beat them. And it might be worth you just go in and check in your competition and see what sort of domain authority and page authority they have as well, because that's going to give you an idea of what the target actually is. So we might say 14 out of 100. And we might think I need to get to 90, but we might find all our local competition sitting around the 20 mark. So if we can get to 25 out of 100 for the domain that was probably sufficient to actually start rising above them in search.
So it's a general authority of our site, we need to actually start testing that if We've got a number of different pages we want to compete for if we've got a number of different services, and each of those pages as its own column on your spreadsheet, so that you can now check how well that particular page is doing for that term. And you might pick three or four or five key services that you offer, if you offer varying services, and put those pages in here and record those stats, so we can see how they work. If you're new to this completely, just go with your homepage domain, let's just see how we can get that ranking example at the page authority. And it's actually quite high at 20 100. And that page does quite well in search, but we could probably work on so many other pages.
So let's record those stats in our spreadsheet really important guys. Just stop, create a spreadsheet, record these stats, and then what we recommend you do go through the course. follow it through, do some of the work or do some work as you go through the course. And then once you've done it, come back and re review the course watch it again. Because once you've done all those things as stuff I'm sharing here that you're going to miss. You're not going to pick everything up.
I'm trying to teach a pace that's comfortable for beginner, but you're going to go all the way through. You might misunderstand something or you might miss something, get to the end, do a project and then go back through a refresh yourself and you'll be surprised what you pick up on the second pass.
