We're going to do now is look at trust flow and citation flow and we're going to use majestic calm. to test it, I've got handy little tool that's going to give us some data we can put in our spreadsheet. Now trust flow, what is trust flow, trust flow, is the quality of the websites are actually linking back to you. So that's what trust flow is. How trustworthy are the websites I've linked back to you. It's no good having bad websites linking back to you.
And citation flow is exactly the same, except with citation flow. It's more about the directories and the quality of the directories that link back to you. We're going to play citations and we're going to go into that much more later on. But basically, the citation is a name, address, phone number listing on an external site that links back to you. So trust flow, citation flow is all about the quality of External links back to you, but they've been split into two things. types of websites and citation sources.
So let's go and have a look at majestic calm and get a score from there. So here we are on majestic calm, let's just put a URL in here. And let's hit search. So as you can see, we've got two results came in there, it's we got a trust flow of six, and a citation flow of 13. So obviously, we want to increase those now seems like a low score, but it might actually be that we haven't got many websites linking back to us. So that's going to have a low trust flow.
And it might be that we haven't got many citation sites linking back to us, which might be the reason for a low flow. So again, we can test what it should be by looking at our strongest competitors in local search. So be easy for us to say Oh, should be 80 or it should be 75. But really, we just have to be better than the competition. So what we could do here as an exercise is create the trust flow and actually make a note on your spreadsheet In fact, you can do this for all of the different sections, make a note of what the target you want to achieve it is because we can then come back and look at it, and work on these, if we don't get the results we want. Now we have to remember as we're doing SEO work like this, that Google are going to index your page.
And sometimes you're going to do changes and you won't see the results for maybe a few weeks. If you've got a well index site. If you got a really bad indexed website, that can really, really hurt you as well. So whenever we're doing these changes, that's why it's good to check once a week, once a month, because sometimes it just takes a little hard for Google to catch up with what you've done. The more popular your website is, the more often they will index it
