What makes the visualization more effective than say a story is the speed with which we visualize. Our spontaneous visualizations in the form of visual associations are very fast. For the visual associations to work properly we prepare (or prime) our mind by forcing it to visualize other things. This preparation process may take several weeks, and during that time our visualizations may be quite slow. After the first week or two, it is important to "let go" and stop trying to control every aspect of the visualization. Our brains are perfectly capable of coming up with great visualizations if we let them. There are several ideas that help to create useful visualizations. Some of these tips are presented much better in the memory section, so if you are welcome to review this document once again as you progress with the course.
