Charitable Contributions
Money or goods donated or given to organizations that are religious, charitable, educational, scientific, or literary in purpose may be considered deductible.
There are 2 types of charitable contributions that can be deducted.

Cash
Non-Cash goods

Due to CARES Act in 2020, 100% of charitable contributions are deductible.
Please take care that if you receive something in exchange for your contribution, the deductible amount must be reduced by the FMV of what was received.
Any amount more than $250 must have a statement from the organization confirming the amount contributed and a description.
If you drove for a volunteer service project, you may deduct $0.14 for each mile driven to and from.
Amounts you Can’t Deduct

Contributions exchanged for a state or local tax credit.
Travel expenses
Political contributions, including lobbyists
Dues, fees, or bills paid to country clubs, lodges, fraternal orders, etc.
Cost of raffle, bingo, or lottery tickets
