The final interview format that I will be sharing with you is a career or a job fair interview. Now over here, apart from all the giveaways that you will taking along with you, this is a format where you are short of time and you have to present yourself and outshine all the other candidates in a very short span of time. So when you're walking through the aisle and you have all the employers sitting there in their boots or their camps, just go there, present yourself very briefly hand over your resume and sit down for the interview. And remember my words that you don't have time for chitchat and discussing different things and topics. So instead, stick to the basics, start presenting yourself immediately in a positive manner. Don't just ask questions, because my friend your interview is happening there and then and you have no time to talk about irrelevant stuff.
So stick to the basics, and try to outshine in the least amount of time possible. I would like to inform you that the average time that is spent in a job interview is not more than 15 minutes, because there are a number of candidates who have to be evaluated. In one day's time, my second suggestion to you is that don't ask too many questions while you're presenting yourself. It is always good to have couple of questions up your sleeve, which can be related to the organization and what the organization values. But don't have more than one or maximum two questions at your end, because you will be short of time and while you're asking questions, you might hear this that Okay, thank you very much for your interview. And we will get in touch with you by the end of the week.
So, you have to avoid this situation and instead, keep trying to portray your skills and your strengths in a very short span of time. Now, this can be a very challenging task, but this is something that you will have to do. Keep in mind that your objectives in this format of an interview is not to get hired, but to get a call for the actual interview. You have just 15 minutes to play with, try to make the best of the time available and portray yourself in a positive manner. Next question is they try to be heard and seen even if you are not giving an interview. Because these employers are observing at all times.
And if you're just Standing in the queue for your interview, there is a possibility that one of the representatives of the organization might be looking at you. So keep a positive image. And stay confident and make sure that you're not fidgeting or laughing too loud or cracking jokes with your friends, because this is a serious affair. And you have to make sure that you leave nothing to chance. And then finally, the last thing that you will have to portray is that you know your stuff. So everything that has been written on your resume, make sure your resume is brief and precise.
And to the point, we've had dedicated lectures on how to build a winning resume in this module. So keeping those things in mind, make it as brief as you can, highlighting your key skills that you have so that all the questions revolve around them, and try to answer them to the best of your capabilities. Now, while giving structured answers, you will not have enough time to give proper detailed answers. Instead of talking about the whole problem and everything, try to focus on the actual solution and what your role was in overcoming that particular problem. So these are the things that I feel are important when you are giving an interview in a career or a job fair. Your objective in this interview is to portray your skills in a short span of time so that that organization calls you in for an actual interview.
