In this lesson we will be fusing our interfacing to our fabric and aligning pieces. So the tools you're going to need for this lesson are your pattern pieces that you just cut out from your fabric, your lining and your interfacing. You're going to need your iron and your ironing board. And if you have a pressing cloth, which can be any type of fabric that you can use, you can use a pressing cloth, but it's not absolutely necessary in the Course Resources, if you're using fusible fleece as I mentioned, if you decide you want to go with a cotton cloth fabric, I placed instructions on which pattern pieces will need fusible fleece. So please refer back to your resources if you're using a cotton cloth or a fusible fleece interfacing. So let's get started.
So now let me show you really quickly how to fuse your interfacing to your fabric pieces. I'm not going to do every piece on camera because the process is the same for each piece. And even if you're using a fusible fleece, the process is exactly the same. So what you're going to do, you want to take your main fabric in the wrong satisficing meaning the side that you don't want anyone to see that side is facing you facing up. You take your interfacing and it has a smooth side and it has a bumpy side. You want to place the bumpy side facing the wrong size.
So place it down onto the wrong side of your fabric. And normally I will use a pressing cloth but I want you to see what I'm doing on the video but definitely use a pressing cloth when you're fusing interfacing to your pattern pieces. So you take your iron and move it around just a little bit. Not much because you You don't want our marks on your fabric and just iron over each section. And once you're done ironing, let it rest for a few seconds just to make sure that the glue properly fuses to the fabric. This side is a little cooler to check to make sure that you have fused properly.
Just go ahead and try to peel the interfacing back and if it doesn't peel back that means you have properly fused your interfacing to your fans. Go ahead and use the rest of the interfacing to the rest of your fabric pieces and then we'll get started assembling your bag.
