As, as a mother, we often feel like we're in charge of the kitchen, unless you're really lucky and you have a husband that loves to be in the kitchen with you or, you know, he takes control of it. And but for a lot of us, we are the main person that makes the food. And when we change the way we eat, that often feels like it's going to have an impact on the rest of the family. So for those of you who were saying, How can I change my life, how can I change my relationship with food when my family aren't on board, you know, the family loved their junk food, the cupboards full of chips and sodas and chocolates and all sorts of things that you obviously don't want to fill your body with when you love your body. And so the question is, how do we manage that?

Well, there are a few things here. Firstly, This isn't a diet. So you don't need to clean out the pantry and have everything away so that it's out of sight out of mind. This is you know, it's more much more of a mindset shift. Its undoing the idea that food has power over you. So, you know, I have snacks in the cupboard, and I have things there.

And nothing gives me greater pleasure than not needing to open them or not needing to have some, but you know what, if I really feel like something, I will, I'll have a few but instead of having a bag of chips, I'll get a bowl and I'll just put some of them in there, and then I'll really enjoy them. Now the thing is, you want to lead by example. So whether your family get on board with you or not, you want to be showing your family how you take care of a body that you love. You're not doing this because of A diet something that is really important to stress to your family is that you can eat whatever you want. There is nothing more annoying when you are trying to accommodate yourself to have people say to you should you be eating that if you decide to have a piece of cake or you decide to have a biscuit, you can eat whatever you want.

You are making choices about what you want. Some days, you may want to eat something other days you might not. But this is this is not a diet, you are not saying there are foods you can't have. This is about making choices. Now depending on the age of your kids, mine are five, seven and nine. We overhauled the way we ate as a family.

So one of my children's favorite meals, nuggets and chips. I'm sure I'm not alone in that. So we stopped buying frozen nuggets and we started buying chicken breast and flour and eggs and really nice herb and garlic bread crumbs and making nuggets and chips became an activity we did as a family so one child goes on the flour, one child goes on the the egg wash. Now let me tell you, if you if you have this requirement to have everything neat and tidy, you may want to skip this one. And however it is something really worthwhile doing because it gives you an opportunity to talk to your kids about the processes that food go through. So we we got talking about our frozen chips for example, as we were making fresh ones we talked about flash frying and then the things that they cope potatoes with to keep them in the bags.

And I get to share with the kids the you know how important fresh foodies even get fresh food. You know least that way you know what Scott Going into things. So a lot of this depends on the age of your kids, you really want to make sure that you never refer to food is good and bad. And I see all food should be treated equally, because we always want what we can't have. So if you say, I can't have chocolate, what are you gonna want chocolate. If you can't have chocolate, though, you may find that you don't actually feel like it, or you don't want it.

And because your brain understands that it's not going anywhere, you can have it tomorrow. If you really feel like it, you can have it after dinner. You don't have to have it right at that time. So don't worry, if your family are addicted to fast foods. You also don't want to be putting down their food choices. And it's really easy to get on a high horse when you're your change, track and start saying things like oh, How could you want to put that crap in your body?

Well, we don't want to put them down. You just want to lead by example, when your family see how much more energetic you are, and how much better you feel about yourself, they, they may want to, you know, start having some of your better versions of foods as well. But this isn't a race. This isn't a sprint to an endpoint. This is a life change. And this life change has the potential to really create huge change in your entire home.

But at the very least, let it create change for you.
