Finding a comfortable sitting position you do not have to sit cross legged, but you may, I'm sitting cross legged on a bolster with two blocks one under each knee. You could also choose to sit with your legs straight out with blocks under the thighs. And you can also choose to sit in a chair, I'm just not demonstrating that so maybe between two surfaces where you can actually brush your hand on those surfaces.
