There will be times when you have to task your source to gather an important piece of information, possibly in a new area to the one they are used to. You may have to teach them new skills; in some areas it might be how to take photos and send them to you without compromising themselves or using a GPS. How do you train them? If the area they work/live in is dangerous, such as Syria, Somalia or Afghanistan, you should consider making them aware of their own safety & security and how to spot threats.
