DESCRIPTION: The most common slide youth players use is the Figure 4 slide. Keeping the left leg straight, bend the right leg and place it underneath the left leg so your legs make the shape of a &ldquo;4&rdquo;. The hands should be up making a soft wrist and they should be leaning slightly back. Have your players use a sliding mat and practice running full speed into the base. Use sliding to stop on the base and to avoid the tag. Do not slow down before sliding, make sure you have the players run full speed into the slide.
