DESCRIPTION: An easy way to teach your players to catch the ball properly is to teach them to correctly position the glove depending on where the ball is hit or thrown. If the ball is above their waste, we want them to catch the ball with their fingers up or “to the sky.” If the ball is below their waste, we want them to catch the ball with their fingers down. For any ball between our feet or shoulders, we want to use 2 hands and for anything outside our body, we want to use one.
