DESCRIPTION: Just like the player saying “HIT” at contact, another great drill for the player to keep their eye on the ball is to keep the chin down on the back shoulder after contact. You can put a cone or mark on the ground as well to force them to keep their eye on the ball and head down through the contact. So many players love to look up early to see where the ball is before they hit it so it’s important in practice to challenge them to keep their head down.
