DESCRIPTION: (Thumb-Thumb / Pinky-Pinky) Depending on where the ball is, we want to teach our players to use either 1 or 2 hands when they catch the ball. If the ball is between their feet, or between their shoulders, we want them to catch the ball using 2 hands. The correct way to catch the ball with 2 hands is to align their throwing thumb behind their glove thumb. When they close their glove, they want to close their throwing pinky to their glove pinky. “Thumb to Thumb, Pinky to Pinky. Some younger players try to put their throwing hand behind their glove and end up squeezing the ball right out of their glove so it’s important to teach them how to do it correctly.
