A couple of the hairstyles in the course have French twist in the back. They again I'm having flashbacks of beauty school I went to beauty school in 1980. And every single day, every day, we had to do enough do with a French twist, pink girl sets, finger waves and all that and yeah, a lot of the girls moaned but I loved it. So, but there's cheater way to do a French twist. And so that's what's in some of the courses is a cheater twist and the pictures are there, but I want to show it to you live. We're just gonna pull it out now in the corner That I think the cheater twist is in the hair is not as long as this.

And also what matters to is the direction that the head is the hair is being combed off of. So I am not straight out. And it's similar when you're cutting hair that you have direction from the scalp, you know that with haircuts, and it's the same with up dues. So a real true French twist should be tied at the bottom and full at the top. So I want to make sure that there's less hair here and more length here. That makes sense.

So as I tighten, the twist is going to suck in to the bottom and then we'll pull it up for the cheater look. So I'm holding it out. And I'll go over the old school way as well. Okay. So I'm going to start turning and lifting at the same time. So we have that kind of twisty tightness down here and then basically, you just pull.

I'm gonna pin this up here for now. And I'm going to change directions a little bit so I can see and I've got my rat tail. I'm just going to go on here with this cheater twist and just bring it up just continue to coil a little bit it's important you know, nothing always goes right the first time of always right? And it's so important to keep your cool especially when you're working with brighter prom. Keep your cool and because when you get anxious and nervous, even if you are to not let it show because when if they smell fear in you, then they're gonna jump on the fear bandwagon. So, there we go.

Pinning in there and we just got a lovely simple cheater twist. And then whatever else goes up here in the crown, you can play with the hair, not to twist. Okay? Take that out and just go over the old school method. Remember, out from the head shake down too low, not up too high, because you want that cone effect and she has obviously A lot of length and not everyone's going to have this much length and if I was doing truly an old school, I would put tees in the back. What mostly happens with French twist is when people are coming over here they don't realize that they've got this hair stuck.

It's now pinned. And and so now this all this length is lost, it's just been pinned down by mistake. So make sure that hair is like out of the way. So get get it up out of the way even if you gotta stick a clip in it so that you're clean. Now, I never said I was a colorist and I threw some color in her to get some dimension but stand your neck. Okay?

So that's all over. And I would have vertical slices of teasing in here. But I don't like to tease the heck out of my mannequin head because I don't wanna lose her hair. So literally what I would do is I would wait a hook. So that one hair pin, catches the ball, the bobby pin catches that ball of that bobby pin, and literally hooks it and do the same on this side. And make sure I'm on the right down scout that hooks it and keep going.

Okay and then come I always like to close. Okay, so that's it. Now, we've got all this links to deal with. And sometimes that's too much hair. I see some French Swiss that look like a football off the back of their head and that they want a French twist in the back. That doesn't mean that all this hair has to go into the French twist.

A couple of ways I've done it is I love my elastic. Elastic in here. Putting elastic in just keeps things clean and easy. And then I can I can literally fold that in And work on getting my twist over to that scene. Okay, so again I'm not gonna panic because that bomb is kind of dangling. I will get to it and clean it up no panic and if you're doing real right you know practice practice on her Or maybe you're doing hair for a school play or I did some opera singers in my day I did some ballroom dancers in my day and so they kind of had to have some period looks.

Now I'm just wants to get that nice, tighter bottom. I'm gonna just go right in and get my bottom in there tight. Me either if I teased and had a real head of hair but all right And you can see now that the bulk of the weight is in a ponytail. So I can go in with hairpins. Now, in this scene, I don't really need body pins because I'm doing detailed finishing work right now. I'm not needing bobby pins for bulk, or hairpins router for bulk.

I'm just needing them for detail work. hid all that hair in there, folded it in half with a with an elastic and teeter French twist that comes off the head form A traditional seam French twist with a heck of a lot more hair. So hope that helps.
