I'd like to start by talking about the difference between meditation and mindfulness. Meditation is the practice of focusing exploring the mind. The same way as we explore the muscles when we're going to the gym, we want to also exercise our minds to be able to come to focus and clarity faster and without less and less distractions. I'm sure we all can think of times when having a clear and focused mind will be extremely beneficial. And we also all had moments when this was difficult for us. Mindfulness is the practice of being completely present in the moment and it can be applied to any activity you can be microwave, walking, talking, eating, or having an argument.
It is about being fully present with your emotions, thoughts, and feelings, your bodily sensations and your breath. This is beneficial for many reasons, but mostly teaches us how to untangle subconscious responses so we can make more conscious, active and healthier choices in our life.
