Violence and abuse are two behaviors that are designed to obtain control over your partner and they block feelings of safety. These behaviors come in different forms and with the use of the power and control wheel which was developed by the domestic abuse intervention project team, you will be provided clear definitions of the most common behaviors that promote an unsafe relationship environment. This lesson will further introduce the equality wheel which describes behaviors that promote relationship safety and mutual respect. You will also receive information pertaining to resources you can turn to if you find yourself in an abusive or violent relationship.
