And now for a really fun bonus class, we're going to use the same techniques we used in class but with a slight modification. For the first layer. Instead of doing just one color, we're going to do a little gradient combining two colors. So we'll add our layers like normal, but with our first layer, we're going to add multiple colors. So on the first layer here for the hat, I added the light pink for the middle of it and the darker pink for the outline, it creates just a slight contrast. And then for the body, I use the sand color for the center of our body, and then the teal or the turquoise for the outer edge.
And after I apply those colors wet, I'm just gonna let it dry and it'll blend and dry nicely. It will do unusual and somewhat unpredictable things. When that's done, I'll go in and I'll work on the accessories. So I add color to the nose. I worked on that little hat and then the mittens and again, I just chose colors from our palette that we used in class. Here I'm just highlighting the beard.
And I love the way the blue looks in contrast with the white, it adds a little touch of wimzie as well. After that's dry, I'll go in and I'll start adding my layers. So to the hat, I'm just going to add stripes, but instead of fixed stripes, I had a ton of little stripes. Again, sticking to the same colors we used on our palette, that deep red and then the lighter pink. The lighter pink will look really subtle, but it gives a fun effect. For the body I decided to add a bunch of hearts.
Again using our polka dot pattern and our simple hearts. It's repetitive and it echoes the Valentine theme. I'll continue to do that. And then I'll go around and add few little little touches here and there. Like little stripes, the gloves and just a few off colored hearts to the torso as well. Have fun with your nose and give it a try.
Thanks for watching.
