Okay, so in this video, I'm going to install Kali Linux on virtual box. VirtualBox is a free software that you can download and in that you can create virtual machine. So I'm going to create a Kali Linux virtual machine. So let's get started. Okay, so first of all, you will have to go to the official website of Kali Linux that is www.koco.org and in the downloads section, you will find these on Kali Linux images. So I have downloaded this Kali Linux 64 bit image file and this is of 3.2 gb and the version is 201 9.2.

And my system is off 64 bit so I have downloaded this one If you have a 32 bit machine then you will need to download this image of Kali Linux. And as you can see these all come with different desktop environment like an XD, mate, light, KD and so on. So, you can download these ones also but the environment that you see the desktop environment that is going to be different for each of these. And by default it comes with the GNOME desktop environment. So I have downloaded that one. The virtual box you can download from www.virtualbox.org so after downloading these two things, you will have to install the virtual box and I have already installed the VirtualBox on this machine.

So I'm going to open this up and I'm going to create a new virtual machine. And here I'm going to give this a name, Kali Linux and I'm going to keep the machine folder as it is and type Also, I'm going to keep as it is that is Linux and the version. I'm going to set it to other Linux as if you see in the list, there is no specification of Kali Linux. So I'm going to just put it as other Linux 64 bit and the RAM. I'm going to set it to four GB On my system, I have eight gigs. So I've set half of it and I recommend you do the same.

And I'm going to keep this also as it is and click on Create. And here, I'm going to give the storage space. And here I have changed the storage space to 15 gb. And I'm going to keep all the other things as it is click on Create. And here I have my virtual machine created. Now before starting this, we have to set the Kali Linux ISO file as the booting up file so that we can install Kali Linux onto this virtual machine.

So I'm going to click on settings. Then here, you have to keep all the things as it is and you We'll have to see by going in systems and then processor unit to check that this extended feature is checked. And then you'll have to go into storage. And then here it says empty. So you will have to click on this icon, then choose virtual optical disk file. And this is my ISO file.

So I have selected this ISO file, and I'm going to open it. So it is selected now, and I'm going to click on OK. So now our virtual machine is going to boot with this ISO file. So I'm going to start the virtual machine now. Okay, so this is the boot menu, and here we have to select Graphical Install. Okay, now, here, we have to select the language.

So that's English, and then the country then the keyboard configuration, I'm going to keep it as it is So here, we have to specify the hostname. Now I'm going to keep it as it is, and then domain name so I don't have any domain name, so I'm going to leave it blank. Then here we have to specify the password. So this is the password you are going to use when you first log into your system. So after this installation is completed, you will be shown a login screen and we haven't created any user. So you will need to use the username as root and the password as whatever you will specify in these two box.

So I'm going to give the password here. Okay, and now continue Okay, so here, we have to do the partitioning of the disk. But as we are using VirtualBox, so I'm straightaway going with the first option that is the guided and click on Continue. And this is the virtual disk. And I'm going to keep this one also as it is. So it has automatically created two partitions to first for the main root folder.

And the second is a swap partition. And I'm going to select this finished partitioning and click Continue. And we have to write the changes. So I'm going to click on yes And continue and the installation is started. So this is going to take some time so I'm going to skip this part and I'll see you after the installation is done. Okay, so the installation is done.

Now we have to configure the package manager. So here if you want to use a network mirror then you can. Now I'm not going to use any network mirror here. So I've selected yes and I'll continue now it's installing the grub bootloader. Now, I will keep this to yours as I want to install the grub bootloader in the master boot, record, And I'll select this hard disk. This watch this is the virtual hard disk that we have created.

So the bootloader will be installed on this virtual hard disk. Okay, so installation is successfully completed. So I'm going to click on Continue. Okay, so this is the grub bootloader and here we are to go with the first option to boot in To our freshly installed Kali Linux system. OK, so we are here on the login screen. Now as I said before, we haven't created any user so we are going to log in as the root user.

So the username here will be root and the password will be that which we created when installing this operating system. Okay, so we have successfully booted into Kali Linux operating system. Okay, so this is how you can install Kali Linux onto VirtualBox.
