Okay, so in this video, we are going to go through all this process management commands. So let's get started okay. So, our first command is top. So, this top command will give you all the details for all the running processes or we can say all the active processes. So, these are all the active processes, you can see the CPUs in use, then the memory, free and use memory, available memory and all the processes these are all the processes with their process IDs. So, this is how you can see the Active processes in Linux and just press Ctrl C to get out of that.

So, now, the next command is PS, PS stands for process status. So, it is going to display all the running processes for that user. So, as you can see, these are the two processes, and if you want to display the details about just a particular process, then you can write the P ID of that process and just that processes details will be displayed. Then there is another way of displaying processes that is PS and you have to write a u x. Now here at presents the processes for all you Have you read presents to display the processes for user or owners and x shows the processes not attached to the terminal. So, these are all the processes.

So as you can see that route processes also route users bots, processes, then Debian, then for our cash user. So these are all the processes, and they have their p IDs. So as you can see, the P IDs are in ascending order. So these are all the processes. So this is how you can display every single process on this system. Then the next command is, kid now, this command is very powerful.

Hulan dangerous comment as this can kill the process right away. So if you have the VI D, that means the process ID for any process, then you can use this kill to kill that process. So when we're on top, and here we have these processes. So if you want to kill any process, then you just have to note the P ID, the process ID for that process. And you just have to write in and then the process Id say, see one and then press enter and the process will be dominated right away. But here, you have to stop and see what the process is all about.

Because if you give the wrong process which you should not, then something wrong with happened to your system and it might not work as it was working before. So you have to really take care. So you have to really take good care when you use this Kill Command and kill only those processes, which you think they are not the system processes. But the command is simple as you have to just write kill and then space to process it that then the next command is bg. So BG means background processes. So there are currently no jobs present.

And there is another command fg there are no jobs present here as well. So what the VG command does is it sends the processes that are running in the background and f g command is used To run a stop the process in the foreground. So, this is what these commands do. Now, the next command is free. So, free command is used to get the information about the physical memory and swap memory. Now this command displays the total used and available space in the physical memory and swap memory.

So let's run it and as you can see, so, the first one first line represent physical memory and the second is the swap memory and it is showing the total and used and free memory spaces and available memory space. So now this is displaying it in kb. So if we wanted in readable format then we just have to specify the option dash H and it will be in gigabyte a megabyte format. So, now this is much readable. Now, there are other options also which you can dry out and you just have to search help and as you can see these are the options that you can use and we used this one that is it shows the data in human readable output. So, this is the free command.

Now, the next command is watch. Now, this watch command is a command with which you can run any other regular commands at a regular interval of time. So, what this watch command does is it will run Regular auto command repeatedly so that you can see the changes with time. So, now I have the command df to run with this watch command. So, df dash H. So, now this df command will display the free hard disk space on the system and it is going to run this df command repeatedly. So, this watch command will run this df command repeatedly or a particular time delay.

So, as you can see here, this is the output of the F command and if you see the time here, so it is changing. So it is running this command every two seconds. Now, then you can see these options and you can set them in Through for the refresh, then you just have to set this as an option. So I'm going to set gash and do one second and then run the D f dash H command. So, as you can see now, the time is changing at every single second. So, this command is getting refreshed.

So it is getting run at every single second. So this is how you can use this watch command. Okay then the next command is where is so this various command will locate any binary file or source file or any manual page of any file or command. So let's see run this. So I'm going to use varies in space for inventor and as you can see here at so it displayed the path of all that. So, this is how you can use the various.

Now the next command is which now this which command will locate the executable file for any command that is specified. So I'm going to specify sh here. So which then SSH and it is showing the path for this particular command. And I can also do another one nano. So it is showing me the path. This one I can do sudo So, it is That apart for this one, so this this which command works.

So these were all the commands
