So in this video we are going to see some components, which can give us information about the task. So let's get started. So the first command here is df. This stands for disk free. So this command will display the available disk space for different file system. So df, and enter.
So these are the different file systems and this is the used space. This is the available space. So now these numbers are not that readable. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to just use this dash H option. And with this option, as you can see here, the numbers are now in megabytes and gigabyte format. So this is more readable.
So as you can see, this command displays the size you And eligible space for the file systems. Now the next command is F disk. Now this f disk stands for format disk. This is a disk manipulation tool. So with this, you can create and delete partitions in Linux. So I'm going to just write f disk dash L and This command will list all the desks that are there in this system.
So as you can see that I do not have the permission. So I'm going to provide the permission by writing sudo f disk space L and I'll make that need to specify the password for my A user. So, going to write that and enter, and there we have it. So these are all the disks that are connected in this operating system. So this is how you can list the connected devices. Okay, now the next command is d u, this stands for disk usage.
So this command is going to print the file space used in the file system. So, these are all the files and the total space will be this one. So, this is not in a readable form. So, I'm going to write d u, then I'm going to use h as the option and as you can see now, it is In kilobytes and megabyte form, so the total size is 13 megabyte and there is another command that is dash sh. So what this option will do is it is just going to print the total and we'll eliminate all this. So, if I enter then as you can see it is just printing the total then the next command is find amenti so this command will find a file system.
So what this command will do is it is going to list all the mounted file systems and it is going to list them in a tree format. So let's run this. So as you can see here, these are all the mounted file systems and it has listed them in this tree kind of format and here it is showing the source, the file system type and the options. So these were some of the commands to get the disc information
