Okay, so in this video we are going to go through these system information command okay. So the first command is CL. So this command will display a calendar. So, this is the calendar for this month and it is going to highlight the current day on the calendar. So pretty basic command then after we have the command date which will obviously display the date then after we have up time, so next command is up time. So this command will show you the time for which the system is on.

So the next command is W So, this command will give you a quick summary of all the users that are logged in into the system and what all activities they are doing on the system. So, you will get an overview of all the users and the activities that they are doing in this system. The next command is Who am I now, as the name suggests, it will give you the user name for the current logged in user. So that is our cache. So it is a pretty basic command. Okay, now the next command is host name.

Now as the name suggests, it is going to print the hostname of the system. So that is Kali. Now, it doesn't just display this with this command, we can also set the hostname and if you want to set the domain that that also you can do with this command. So, in the help you can see all the options which you can use to do all these kind of things. This is how you can use the hostname command then there is your name. So, this union command will print the system information.

Now, if you just write this union, then it is just going to print out the operating system that is Linux. Now if you want to print all the system information then you have to use the option bash. Okay, so the next command is to display the CPU information. So, character BOC slash CPU info. So this will display the information about CPU and it is going to display all the information like what is the model of the CPU, and the megahertz the cache size and lot more. So these are all the information about the CPU.

And another command is to display the memory info. So we just have to write here memory info and the information about the memory will be displayed. So this is the total memory, free memory available and buffer then cached and lot more than that. So you can display this information just by writing this line of command. Then next up, that is the reboot command. So our EP WT This command will reboot the system.

Now I'm going to run this reboot command and the system is going to reboot. So as you can see, the system has rebooted. So this is how you can use the reboot command to reboot your system from the terminal. Okay, so the Next command is shut down as search UT do W and now when I run this, then as you can see it is going to show you a shutdown just after one minute. So right now, as you can see it is double Oh 17 and here it is double 18 and 35 seconds so it will it has sheduled the shutdown to test. If I want to cancel this then as you can see here I just have to add the option dash c after the shutdown command and it is going to cancel it.

Now there are other options also. So you can go into help and see those. So if you want to shut down the PC right away, then you have to write those capital P that is power of command. And when you do that, and press enter, it is again going to shedule it. So, if you want to shut this system down at the very second you enter the ad the very second you press the enter key. And if you want you can also specify the time after which this system should be turned off, so, shut down and if I write three, then it is going to shut down after three minutes.

So, this is how you can do the shutdown also. And if you want to share Should this system down right away, then you will have to write shut down dashed edge. That means halt. And then you have to write now that means shut down the system right away. So if I press enter, then the system is going to be shut down. And as you can see the system has shut down.
